Is this dress too 'young'?

I'm 32, 5'10 and a size 14. I need a casual daytime dress which could be made to look more formal for formal-ish daytime events. I LOVE this dress from topshop but worry it's a bit too 'young'. Is this dress made for an 18year old or is it perfectly acceptable for. 32 year old? m.topshop.com/mt/www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/tall-454/tall-spotty-swing-dress-3251048?bi=1&ps=24 I think it would look nice with tights and boots or flat with a chunky cardigan. I'm also thinking of wearing it to my DD's interview for her new prep, with tights, black LK Bennett courts and my mulberry... But is it too young? Or is it just naff?

It looks quite short. I think it could be frumpy if you have big tits.

PinkSparklyElephant · 03/09/2014 15:29

I like it and I'm 39! It wouldn't suit me unfortunately as it's got a high neck but if it didn't I'd be tempted!

squoosh · 03/09/2014 15:42

Come on! You're 32 years old. Nothing is 'too young' on a 32 year old, aside from nappies.

It would be nice on someone with smallish boobs.

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 03/09/2014 15:46

I think it's lovely. Not too young at all. I've got a good ten years on you and I'd wear it. I agree that it wouldn't be great on someone with big boobs though.

Quite tempted to try it myself ...

LoafersOrLouboutins · 03/09/2014 15:48

That's the problem... I'm a 32G and totally in denial about it! I like to pretend I'm my pre-DD size of an E cup. Is it an absolute no go for big tits? I have a small waist for my size desperately clings to straws

SmartArse, order it!

Don't encourage me, Loafers! I'm having a rather "quiet" day and have already ordered 2 dresses/tunics/smocky-things.

Pinkdressonthewall · 03/09/2014 16:06

I'm 32 and bought that dress a couple of weeks ago. I love it! I'd maybe try it on first - I'd has a bit of an odd waist, it's looser fitting than I'd expected it to be.

Skater dresses are my staple and I'm.... the wrong side of 45!!
I have a small chest so it would be fine on me.
Not sure for the bigger busted though.Envy

Is it 'eck! I'm 32. I'd wear that. I'm currently wearing very short denim shorts and wedges !

As someone said above, nothing's too young at 32 don't put a dummy in

LoafersOrLouboutins · 03/09/2014 16:15

Just do it, smartarse! I told myself September would be a low spend month but Boden emailed me a 10% discount this morning and I was very naughty Blush. Pink, if you don't mid me asking, how generous is your chest? Does it look really bad on big boobs? Should I get a size smaller? I think I'm just going to look for a different dress, I don't think bit will suit my tits Envy. Hellsbells it's not that skater dresses are for the young but rather I associate polka dots with teenagers and children. I think the skate cut is one of the most flattering on all ages.

Sod it, I've ordered it and I'll send it back if it looks really bad.

I'll do it tomorrow. Honest. I haven't got the guts right now!

Reepits · 03/09/2014 16:33

No.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/09/2014 17:29

Well I've got 3 polka dot dresses and I'm 38. Better to look young and vibrant that dowdy and frumpy. The dress is gorgeous.
