Yanbu, I have at least 20 coats and am on the lookout of another (maybe 2!)

I feel the cold so coats are very important to me

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/09/2014 15:10

Go for the pale pink , you know you want to Wink

I have :
bum covering black
knee length chocolate brown
blue short quilted
bottle green short padded
beige flashers mac
black Scottish Widows style cape

I don't think I have the colour for pink, but I really like them (thinks of Lucy from Eastenders in her pink coat, that was lovely)

leedy · 03/09/2014 15:33

I have four as well and am considering a North Face Arctic Parka. And another raincoat.

beccajoh · 03/09/2014 15:35

Five or six. Not sure why I've got so many!

sunflower49 · 03/09/2014 15:40

Depends what is meant by 'Winter Coat'!I have more that I wear IN winter, than what would be probably described as!

I have a knee length zebra patterned coat.
A purple knee length duffle coat with a hood.
A leatherette jacket that's as warm as both of the above, but doesn't cover below the waist.

I run in winter in a pink kagoul type thing.
I want another one, but I don't have much space and rarely shop as I hate it! If I saw one I REALLY liked, I would buy it :)

ThisBitchIsResting · 03/09/2014 17:00

Only one, I don't understand why you'd want more tbh! I buy the best I can afford, and accessorise it to make it different day to day. I have several trans seasonal coats and jackets but only ever one proper winter one. This year I have bought one from Cos, my other clothes are cheap but having a good coat and bag s lifts your look massively. I'd much rather get one amazing coat and keep it for 3 years than buy a couple of cheapo ones every year. Variety is the spice of life for tops and dresses etc but I don't get bored of my coat, it tends to be a winter long love affair Smile

superstarheartbreaker · 03/09/2014 17:02

I've got a long navy woolen trench coat.
A long khaki down parka
A quilted blue parka
A black and white woolen patchwork blanket coat
A burgundy coat
A beige trench coat
A north face jacket
Denim jacket
Quilted blazer
Fake fur coat

Just brought a leather biker jacket ( half price £50.00 from Mango on ebay)

That's more than 4...oooops!

My khaki down parka was another ebay find. Monsoon and only worn once.

eek - none! I have a raincoat for all seasons (in Manchester so it's well used!) and a leather jacket for when it's kind of like now - not chilly but not boiling. That's it.

I thought about buying a winter coat last year but didn't get round to it - must get one as I also feel the cold and regret it every year!

morethanpotatoprints · 03/09/2014 17:06

I have a padded small black jacket with a hood, its really warm, and a best coat 100% wool that I wear for anything posh where getting wet is not an option. Grin so 2 in total, you can only wear one at once.

FelixFelix · 03/09/2014 17:09

I only have two! A Barbour Winter Force parka which I've had for three years and I LOVE. Also a waterproof walking jacket with a removable padded insert for when it's freezing.

I feel like I need to go on the hunt for another coat after reading this Shock

MirandaWest · 03/09/2014 17:14

I have one. And it's still fine so I'll have it this year too. Think this will be its third season.

Floellabenjamin · 03/09/2014 17:18

I have 2
Wool navy pea coat whistles - 6 yrs on going strong
Puffa- down jacket- more casual and lighter

superstarheartbreaker · 03/09/2014 17:19

No... You need to stop shopping like me!

Vitalstatistix · 03/09/2014 17:30

I don't own a coat. I hate them. I have a thick longline jumper 2with a hood that I use in winter if it's really freezing.

I'm a sucker for coats.

I have a
mid length hot pink wool from benetton
long red wool ted baker (my favourite)
short grey wool banana republic
mid length grey canada goose
short black trench massimo dutti
long red trench ted baker
grace rain coat north face
short rain coat north face
mid length thicker rain coat columbia
ski jacket

Last year I was > < this close to buying a grey wool from Karen Millen but couldn't justify it as we'd just moved to Texas

Apatite1 · 03/09/2014 20:08

10 at last count.

phonebox · 03/09/2014 20:13

Shock you people have so many coats. Envy

I have:
-one red duffel coat (DP's favourite) from Primark so is probably a poly-wool blend or similar
-one smart grey work/going-out wool coat

That's it. I have a massive suede and fake-fur lined coat that I wore once in 2006 and has been in storage ever since. I still feel guilty about not getting my money's worth from it! If we get another cold winter though, I might dig it out. It's like wearing a duvet.

sleepdodger · 03/09/2014 21:16

Too many Blush
In my defence I used to work in fashion
I want a lilac one this winter
And tartan
And animalBlushBlushBlush

LuckySaint · 03/09/2014 21:33

I have about 15.
Only 4 fit me at the moment Sad

AmyByTheTrain · 03/09/2014 21:51

I have one winter coat, a charcoal pea coat, that has lasted 15 years.

When I lived in Chicago, I also had a full-length down-filled coat for super cold days, but I donated it when I moved here, as I wouldn't need it.

I'm just not that into coats, but I don't think it's BU to have a few winter coats if you wear them all sometimes, have somewhere to keep them, can afford it, and it makes you happy Smile

MrsEboJones76 · 04/09/2014 07:25

Bottle green parka style down coat for really cold days when commuting or out with the kids.
Khaki and dark grey military style wool coat that I've had a few years and love.
Olive tweed blazer that was a prize and is as yet unworn
Dark berry leather biker jacket

I have a raincoat and an olive army style jacket which I think are more transitional.

I am lusting after a navy gap drop sleeve coat.

HappyMedium · 04/09/2014 12:18

Three quarter length Black wool coat for smart and funerals-Esprit
Bum covering grey coat- Jack Wolfskin
Bum covering navy coat- Can't remember make, from TK Maxx

For this year I'm lusting after a short Black packable puffa.
