Forever Autumn Forever Crepey

The summer sun is fading as the year grows old,
and darker days are drawing near,
the winter winds will be much colder,
now you're not here.
I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky
and one by one they disappear
I wish that I was flying with them,
now you're not here

It's a version of this. I've used cannellini beans before, will use butter ones this time, I think (though we have both); I add olives and chunks of red pepper too.

Crem, no, we will probably go to Currys and make a not very informed choice but maybe this www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/printers-ink/printers-scanners/all-in-one-printers/canon-pixma-mg2450-all-in-one-inkjet-printer-21738765-pdt.html#longDesc or go up to whichever has separate colour cartridges. Hope today is a Good Leg Day.

motherinferior · 05/09/2014 10:57

Rudy, you are quite intimidatingly gorgeous! I always feel huge and clumsy and try to suck my tummy in when around you.

Blackduck · 05/09/2014 11:01

Yes Rudy, what do you mean 'lost confidence'? You always look fab (even with a bra on your head...... )

Feeling rubbish still - at work - but binned off the weekend jaunt as I think spreading my germs around half of the UK is probably a tad unfair....

herbaceous · 05/09/2014 11:12

Yes Rudy, you are a stunna. I feel right dowdy next to you. You are going to look ultra-fab in the VW at the wedding. People will be too busy looking at the dress and your boobs to notice accessories.

hattymattie · 05/09/2014 11:14

Rose - are you me? I have just bought curtains for the living room from Laura Ashley that finally meet in the middle. We have been here with stop gap curtains for 15 years!

Started gym after summer break this morning - aching all over.

I'm lunching with two friends one of whom is moving to the UK next week. She's American but I've shown her Mumsnet so she's happySmile.

Bought cushions for the living room yesterday and have noticed they are still in a bag on the hall floor - obviously it was the thrill of the purchase rather than the actual cushions which excited me.

MI - yes please to bean recipe when you have time.

The rentree took off with a vengeance and I have a parent meeting at 8.30 am tomorrow - it's a Saturday ffs!

Herb's watched Educating the East End. Maybe we should all start fundraising for DS's Eton feesWink .

lalsy, have just ordered this one ( great minds)Canon PIXMA MG3250 All-In-One Wi-Fi Inkjet Printer at Argos for £35.99 and they have 10% off ink there as well. Going down to collect from nearest argos.

Rudy YOU ARE GORGEOUS
AND HAVE A LOVELY STYLE!
WEL [ENVY] OF vw DRESSS BTW

QQ went to see the Beckett last night and found it mesmerising, yet disturbing. dh loved it ( massive Beckett fan) I came away feeling strangelt disconnected and floaty. Really astonishing work from Lisa Dwan. How does she do it?!

I'm not even interested in the one I have. It has almost ceased to exist.

cremolafoam · 05/09/2014 12:50

I'm bored to tears with it tbh. If it prints and doesn't chew paper that'll do for me.

Meet-up getting quite large. I'm just wondering if we should book a private dining room? Waterloo Bar and Kitchen do one with a £25 menu and private bar.
Wahaca will not take a reservation , even for groups, and I cant see 17 of us rocking up and getting a table on a Saturday night.

Suggestions please?Grin

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 05/09/2014 13:06

Private room sounds good - maybe we could then mingle more easily? I agree that 17 is probably too many for Wahaca. I like WB&K, but am happy to go anywhere!

herbaceous · 05/09/2014 13:13

I wonder if such a place exists that would allow standing up and mingling, then food that can be eaten on the hoof, for further mingling.

cremolafoam · 05/09/2014 13:38

Blackfriars
wil do a buffet menu but its a bit retro 1994 I suppose.

Waterloo B&Q have a private dining room with a bar, but sit down dinner afterwards- but we'd be in our own space for mingling. They throw in a waiter for our entertainment too
www.barandkitchen.co.uk/private-room-booking/
I have emailed them to see if they would need a deposit.

The Mulberry Bush do a sharing platter and have a small upstairs room for hire.
looks nice actually.

bigTillyMint · 05/09/2014 13:58

Love the auto typo!

All that sounds/looks good CremoSmile

bigTillyMint · 05/09/2014 14:00

Blackfriars may be a bit more tricky for people to get to/from though.

herbaceous · 05/09/2014 14:03

I note the B&K does a 'drinks and canapés' option. Maybe we could upgrade the canapes to 'massive plates of scran'.

cremolafoam · 05/09/2014 14:05

Just Received this:

Thank you for your inquiry for dinner, in our private room, for 17-20 people on Saturday 11th October at Waterloo Bar and Kitchen. I can confirm that we do have availability in the room and there is no hire charge if you are having a meal, but there is a minimum spend required of £400.

If you wish to go ahead with the booking, then we will need a £50 deposit to secure the booking and we can sort out the details of food and wine nearer the time; the deposit will be credited against your bill on the evening. To pay the deposit please give me a call and I will be able to do this over the phone.

I have attached our function menus for you to have a look at. If you can choose one of the available menus, we will present it to your guests on the evening so they will not be required to pre order.

I have also attached our wine list so if you could then choose a white and red wine we will have them ready on arrival. There is also a bar in the room so we will be able to provide any other drinks.

I have listed the details below and if there is anything amiss then please let me know.

Date: Saturday 11th October
Location: Private Room
Arrival Time: 7.30pm
Eating Time: 7.30pm
Numbers: 17-20
Menu: To be confirmed
Drinks: To be confirmed

12.5% Service will be added to all bills

Just suggesting this to gauge opinion:

bigTillyMint · 05/09/2014 14:19

Sounds yummy and reasonably good value - even if only say 12 come, we would cover the £400 with wine, surely?! Would they still do it if say 12?
