The summer sun is fading as the year grows old,
and darker days are drawing near,
the winter winds will be much colder,
now you're not here.
I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky
and one by one they disappear
I wish that I was flying with them,
now you're not here

Herbs it will be fine but you may have to hold firm and brook no arguments! He'll come round.
Here keys and hence bus pass were forgotten - I despair.....

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2014 09:05

Yes, Herbs, like MI said. And BD.

BD it is a steep learning curve!

Herbs, walking (fast!) is the way to go.

DD's last day of work exp and she doesn't want to leaveGrin It has been really good for her - she has met a huge range of different people from different walks of life, has been able to do a wide range of tasks and has developed a little bit more confidence in herself. I am very much hoping she can transfer it to school.

I can do up my ToT, and was within two pounds of my target weight. However, if I shed the next two pounds I would be able to sit down in the ToT.

I have an area of weights and DVDs in the sitting room. It doesn't, however, make me actually do much exercise.

And that, Rudy, is one of the many reasons I personally am in awe of you Grin

Right; having comprehensively messed up yesterday because my interviewee failed to ring at ALL, I must now get through a few things. I feel I am overall running out of puff to get to a gentle halt in the middle of nowhere.

Also I have been side-tracked by more fascinating stuff about ancient India rather than restructuring my book.

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2014 09:58

2 weeks, Rudy. I was very dubious about the value of it, (especially at the start of Y11) before she started, but it has definitely been worthwhile.

Well done Herbs! I am lucky that the gym is a 2min run from our front door. It's the kitchen that's the problemWink

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/09/2014 10:01

Herbs, agree with the others, tell him it's an eye appointment. And remember that you're the adult here, and what you say goes! This is something he doesn't have a choice in. Give him the choice of what to have for tea instead. Smile

Rosebag · 19/09/2014 10:04

OOOh MI,I'm well impressed. But not with the no show, of course. That's bad form, whoever you are…..

Blackduck · 19/09/2014 10:58

Oh Rudy eyes room under the house and wonders if wireless signal reaches........

(I so need to do something to tone up and shift the gut)

Here am wfh and need to read and update long tedious document (yawn)

hattymattie · 19/09/2014 11:07

Rudy - exercises with no heating but what about mid winter? I have to go to a class where I can gossip or it's no good.

Am pathetically happy as have discovered antibiotics for tooth operation are compatible with alcohol so wine tonight after all.

I'm feeling at a bit of a loss as DD1 has gone to the Netherlands to stay with her boyfriend for the weekend. She is a true eurochild. I'm going to really miss her when she finally goes to uni after our lovely golden September together.

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2014 11:20

Aww, Hatty. How lovely that you had a great summerSmile

Yes, Herbs, bribe him with tea out if necessary!

motherinferior · 19/09/2014 12:04

It's interesting how different people's exercise needs/inclinations are. The only class I ever got on with was Pilates which I did for years with a bunch of proto-Crepeys. Swimming and running are things I hate to do with others, by contrast. Whereas I have lots of friends who loathe solo exercise.

DD1 has become a keen (urban) walker. Especially if there are shops and/or cake at the end, obviously. She came home from school the other day accusing us of genetically loading her chances of high cholesterol (sorry, kid, your diabetes risk is higher too - not our fault) and is hoping that exercise will redress her diet.Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/09/2014 12:08

My ideal exercise is something that is fast and over with quickly. I used to go to the gym with my Groucho Friend. We used to spend most of the time in the jacuzzi gossiping.

hattymattie · 19/09/2014 12:52

Mrs SGrin - sounds like my sort of exercise.

lalsy · 19/09/2014 13:56

Yes, I only like chat-based exercise!

herbs, I'd just keep on battling through, the build up is really horrible but he is far too young to understand this decision.

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2014 14:00

I must say I prefer the gym when I have a chum to talk to there, and circuits at work are a real laugh. Luckily there are individual TV's in the gym for when I'm on my own!

herbaceous · 19/09/2014 14:14

I used to LOVE step aerobics.Something complicated enough to make me forget that I'm about to have a cardiac arrest.

Christ, I'm exhausted. All this emotional turmoil about DS and school, starting my teaching career (turns out teaching is blasted knackering), and I haven't slept well for a couple of weeks, waking up in a sweat at 4am and fretting. Not helped last night by that gigantic storm!

Shopping's good near my placement college - two excellent charity shops, a great big Lidl, and various Algerian cafes.

cremolafoam · 19/09/2014 14:44

MI if the interviewee reschedules , can you ask her how she does that smooth icing on her cakes.
( derails exercise chat onto the subject of cake)Wink

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2014 14:51

Herbs, I am unbelieveably bad at step aerobicsGrin

Ooh, MI, I like your interviewee!

motherinferior · 19/09/2014 14:57

I shall try, Cremo. It is for the mag I exploit you lot for Grin.

I went out for lunch with friend and had LARGE glass of wine. I may toy with a bit of work. Or maybe not

motherinferior · 19/09/2014 14:58

I am only after a 150 word anecdoteGrin

herbaceous · 19/09/2014 15:01

I'm supposed to meeting pals in the forest. It is currently thundering. These two facts are not compatible.

bigTillyMint · 19/09/2014 15:04

Exciting, Herbs! Like the electric thunderstorm we got caught in in Nicaragua!

herbaceous · 19/09/2014 15:36

Just got totally drenched picking him up from school in the car!
