I'm trying to find a shopping bag to replace this old favourite. Can anybody find me something lovely? It's for a present for my mum. I'm thinking canvas, leather or oil cloth, not jute. I don't really know where to start looking. Thanks.

You do realise that you are identifiable in those pictures.
Nice dress btw. Smile

Thanks ihatethecold but it's not me! It was just the only picture I could find of the Liberty oilcloth bag. It must be 20 years old...

Ulster Weavers do lovely shopping bags. I bought one for DM last year from Amazon.

I'd be heading to Dickens and Jones, Radley or Cath Kidston - for some lovely shoppers for my Mum. Or, Kipling, her favourite brand!

Do you have a decent market near you. If you are anywhere near cambridge they have a great market with lots of lovely bags like the ones mentioned above. Much cheaper than shop bought

Thank you - I hadn't seen Ulster Weavers before.

I quite like the Cath Kidston totes, but they're not wow-ing me. I'd hope to find something a bit more individual/funky. Which makes Radley/Kipling a no-no, sorry. will try Dickens and Jones, thanks.

I like this marimekko but am not sure it's wide enough.

No decent markets unfortunately.

Any other thoughts please?
