Handbags - Minimal and chic. Less well known brands?

I have been looking for a new black handbag for a while, budget £200ish. I have started to dislike overt branding and blingy hardware after looking at all the Michael Kors bags, some of which I'd like if they didn't have the logo. I was wondering are there lesser known brands that make nice quality bags without all the branding? Please don't suggest Peony & Moore. Ideally I'd love a soft leather tote/shopper style bag that has handles to carry it with your hand but also a strap to carry it on the shoulder. I quite like the one on the photo (minus the pin).

I am in the market for a new bag and have found this thread really helpful. I have a few on my short list but am wondering about quality ... I want something that is going to last a looooong time as it will be an anniversary present from my dh. I'm specifically interested in some of the Mimi berry and coach bags so keen to know that these are 'quality' bags. I've read on other threads that s lot of high end bags that cost ££££ are lacking in quality so would be good to have opinions on brands listed here.

My mimi was made of the loveliest, softest leather. Really well-made. Also, she's a small designer based in East London-so more unique than coach, if that's your thing! .

I was frequently complimented on the bag too, which is always v nice!

Mimi customer service is fab and the bags are guaranteed. My bags also came with a registration number which I put in online.

The MK bags, in my opinion, are disgusting.

In Spain we have a lovely range called Bimba y Lola, some of the designs are a bit garish but others are understated, simple and elegant. On The Road and Arizona are the most "classic" of their ranges. Beware - the website has noisy music! (But is a good site otherwise). www.bimbaylola.com

(If you live in London, there are ByL stores at Westfield, on the King´s Road, South Molton St. and Westbourne Grove).

Fossil bags are fab. I should think there are some really nice ones around your budget.

I quite like an Osprey Tote. Plain, sturdy and IMO, hard wearing.
