Does anyone else have sartorial date rules?

Calendar related, not romance!

I've got a rule about not wearing opaque tights or knee high boots May to September irrespective of weather Hmm
So I celebrated today wearing black opaque tights. And have ordered a lovely new pair of duo boots.
I don't usually judge others for breaking these rules, but adhere to them myself with rigour!
I have no idea where I got this from. No idea.
Anyone else got rules like this?

I have the same rules as you! I've been very confused by my colleagues in their thick black tights during August!

dun1urkin · 01/09/2014 21:28

Yay!
Have just realised I got my rules wrong, should've said May to August, but you clearly knew what I meant Grin

No. My dress code is strictly dictated by the weather, although in summer months I would wear nude tights rather than opaques, or trousers.

dun1urkin · 01/09/2014 21:44

See, that's logical. Dictated by weather just...can't...do...it

Which Duo boots have you ordered?

dun1urkin · 01/09/2014 22:38

Laurel. Got 'em off the outlet site, was just looking for a link, but I don't think they were joking when they said 'last pair'

Wow - too high for me but amazing.

Grin They're kind of a threat to myself. I've lost a few kilos, and standard high street boots, which were always a bit on the loose side are now like wellies not got particularly slim legs but boot makers think if your feet are a size 8 you must have elephant calves If I pork out again, they won't fit!

ooooh how lovely. i have size 8 feet and elephant calves, so have to opposite problem, i can never do any boots up. i just order wellies online and i can't get them up my leg - ffs they are meant for thick socks and trousers to be tucked it too Confused

I have loads of date/seasonal rules. No winter coat after April/before October. No tights unless the month has an r in. No boots April-Oct. Certain colours only for Summer (pale yellow, bright candy colours) and Winter (dark maroon/forest green/black). Different make up as well. Different hair.
