I'm having a hard time finding bras to fit my 11 yr old daughter and wonder if anyone could advise me. I've measured her - she's 30'' round under bust and 34'' over. I made her bend over! We've tried 30A/B, 32 A/B and she complains they feel too tight round her chest. She is very broad and is heavy, something were gradually working on. I've tried Debenhams & M & S. Don't have a John Lewis near us. Any other ideas or recommendations?

Gosh I seem to have gone from 32c to 28e. Happy days... But my 32c bras fit so well?!

showtunesgirl · 01/09/2014 22:51

Are you sure? Double check against all of the fitting points.

Believe in the measure

You will not be sorry - and when you are then wearing the correct size, which may feel odd to start with, like wearing a bra for the first time ever because of the different press points etc. You will wonder how you ever managed to wear your old size Smile

Ah Jumblebee, that might be it!

Mmeh, I'm glad you've realised you were wrong - I am a 34A and there is NO WAY a 34" band would be the right size for DD! Infact she tried a 32C strapless bra from Primark in desperation a year or so ago and it just slipped downShock!

I agree about why are the 28"s so difficult to find - DD is 5'2" and a size 8 hour-glass - not even "skinny" as she has done gymnastics for 9 years, so I've no idea how smaller women manage!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2014 07:25

Sadly lots of places still use the old measuring approach because it means they can offer a smaller range of sizes and just wedge women in to what they sell.

MehsMum · 02/09/2014 14:12

statistically, 'rocking horse poo', indeed Grin. DD will be thrilled to know!

Thanks for the advice.

Jumblebee 28 backs can be found in Bravissimo, although some brands only start at a 30 even there, now 26 backs, they are absolutely like gold dust.

Blatherskite · 02/09/2014 14:55

I'm a 28F and buy all my bras in Bravissimo.

Even they said they'd struggle if I was a 26" back though.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/09/2014 16:05

There is one brand, made in Preston, which does official 26s. There are also some which run notoriously small and which 26s often wear -Debenhams gorgeous, tutti rouge and some bravissimo own bras but that's more random
