Autumn winter perfume

bananananacoconuts · 30/08/2014 22:05

I need a new perfume for Autumn/winter. Previous favourites are Angel, Wish and Feerie. I also love Clinique Aromatics Elixir but i'm not sure i like it on me.
Summer scent is either Bronze Goddess or Virgin Island water.
I have no idea where to start and would love some suggestions please.

Bvlgari Jasmine noir is a lovely winter scent!

bananananacoconuts · 30/08/2014 22:16

Thank you. I'll make a list and go have a try!

Guerlain perfumes
Thierry Mugler Alien
Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb
Elie Saab Le Parfum
Dior J'adore, Miss Dior and the Poison perfumes
Chloe
Lancome La Vie Est Belle

I like aldehydes and chypres in Autumn so I'll be wearing First by Van Cleef and Arpels and my trusty Balmian Jolie Madame. Also, I crack open the incensey Tauers when the weather turns so I'll also be wearing Tauer Incense rose and Tauer Eau D'Epices.

Medievalmurdermystery · 01/09/2014 12:08

Must investigate Ormonde Woman....

cardamomginger · 01/09/2014 14:42

Prada (the original one) is a beautiful amber.

Ormonde Jayne Tolu is another gorgeous amber.
Hermes Eau des Merveilles is a beautiful cool salty orange scent.
If you like vetiver, I think Hermes Vetiver Tonka is about the best vetiver fragrance out there (at least since I went off Chanel Sycomore when I was pregnant with DD!).

cressetmama · 01/09/2014 20:01

Loving most of the above, and adding 11 Semma and the original Comme des Garcons (but I love that year round).

bananananacoconuts · 02/09/2014 20:55

Wow! That's quite a list, thank you all. Can't wait to have the children back at school tomorrow so i can't pop in to town on my way home from work.

How did you manage to get Chanel freebies Lego?

Another Bois Des Iles fan here (a pre children purchase. I savour each drop now!)
Shalimar (like wearing a cashmere sweater)
Serge Lutens- Chergui
Tom Ford- vanilla and Tabasco

ThePerfectNegroni · 02/09/2014 21:10

Tobacco not Tabasco!

Ooh, also currently wearing a sample of Tom Daxon Vachetta, which I think would be a gorgeous Autumn/Winter smell. Even if the name does make me think of the Laughing Cow.

Ilovenicesoap · 03/09/2014 10:25

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir
Absolutely gorgeous .

missmargot · 03/09/2014 10:31

Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay is a gorgeous autumn scent.

Ilovenicesoap · 03/09/2014 10:36

Oh I might have to try that miss Smile

zipzap · 03/09/2014 10:36

I've just started to wear Hermes Eau de Merveilles mentioned above and love it - feels right at the moment plus I've had loads of compliments on it.

I've also just a freebie of a Roger et Gallet fleur (?) de figuier. I thing translated it's flower of fig but it could be something else of fig instead, I was only looking at it quickly it was in the freebie m&s beauty box if you ordered underwear last week and I was busy looking at everything! anyhow it too was a very nice autumnal scent but lighter so wouldn't last as long as an EdP

LabradorMama · 03/09/2014 10:41

I like spicy scents for A/W so Victor & Rolf Spicebomb (actually for men) or Liz Earle do a similar scent which is aimed at women, I think it's called EDP No.15 or similar

bananananacoconuts · 03/09/2014 16:20

These all sound lovely! I'm liking the idea of decants so i have lots to choose from.
