Help me and dd find her a coat....

She's 18 and off to a university in a very cold, windy, wet city. She will be doing a lot of walking.

I have said I'll buy her a coat. It needs to be waterproof, have a hood, long enough to keep her dry. It also has to have fur round the hood, be "not bulky" and be stylish. Impossible? Really? Help please!

How much? I would look at Northface or mountaineering ranges. From their outlets.

Um - not remotely fashionable mum with very fashion conscious DD...have a look at Superdry. I was pleasantly surprised. Expensive, yes, but also surprisingly practical.

This was me and DD last year! I wanted to (literally and metaphorically) wrap her up warmly and bought her a parka from Whistles like this but dark blue. She wore it all through the winter as it was warm, waterproof and stylish. Enjoy shopping for it with her. It is a bitter-sweet time...
