knee-high boots?

help me please! I have lived outside the UK for the last few years in a land that fashion forgot and I know longer know what is in and what is not.

i love my knee-high boots but suspect that they are a bit past it fashion wise. Can i still get away with them if i mix them up with ankle booties sometimes?

I like to wear them over jeans (so 8 years ago i know) and with dresses/skirts etc.

Help me not to look so dated!! I don't want to be the modern version of those middle aged women from the '80s who never retired their blue eyeshadow, but i suspect i am rapidly heading that way...

thank you

Knee boots are back, apparently.

Good to know that if you hang on to a look for long enough it comes around again. Wink

What kind of boots are you looking for? Flats, heels, warm, leather etc?

I'm currently lusting after www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B003CQS448?pc_redir=1409279581&robot_redir=1these for winter Smile

I really don't think long boots date. Only their heel-style, or maybe whether they're pointy or round-toed. Long boots have been popular forever!

I don't know what heels are currently "in". Anyone?!

Thanks ladies! I knew that S&B would guide me in the right way!

When I first started lurking on MN many years ago during my first pregnancy i was hip, but now 3 dc later, clearly i am not!

Jamaican - nothing as fashionable as that for me! I simply have a few pairs of trusty old riding-boot-style knee-highs, fairly flat, but with a small heel. Brown, gray, and a kind of russet colour.

ContreauV - that's the kind of shame i'm trying to avoid, becoming fashionable again through default...ah well, looks like I have become my old French teacher who was stuck in a time-warp. Yay Wink

If anyone could tell me what winter footwear i should be wearing, I'd be grateful - thanks Smile
