I bought a Didriksons last year, though quite expensive I can really recommend. Warm, waterproof and not too much like a rambling coat!

If you want seriously warm and waterproof, North Face have a lovely one this season (I am tempted):

I have this www.targetdry.com/products/target-dry-georgia-parka-for-women from Target dry. Def waterproof , lightly padded but warm. Have had lots of comments on it.

I also have the Emily as a lightweight rain mac.

Another vote for north face arctic Parker. My sister tried mine on and went straight out and got herself one.

Ooo the north face one looks lush. How is the sizing/fit of it??

I haven't tried the Arctic on yet, but I'm a size 14 on top and my other North Face down puffa coat thingy is a L. The M fitted but would have been a little tight across the shoulders/chest with a jumper underneath or similar. You might not have my enormous bricklayer's shoulders though....

I'm a 12-14 and big boobs and the medium fits me fine. I don't wear thick jumpers underneath as its so warm. John lewis usually stock them if you're not near a north face, may be worth trying the different sizes.

I have a Canada Goose jacket. Would never pay that amount (it was a present) and it ticks every box for me. Hopefully it'll last for years!

I have the Merrell Ellenwood from last year which is gorgeously warm.
