Tights with shorts

I dress my 2.8 daughter in these. My DSSs 18 year old girlfriend wears these. I am 36. Can I?

I am under 5 foot and a size 6. Nothing ever fits except Boden dresses. I get jeans altered but jeans don't look great on me.

Skirts mid thigh with thick tights suit my frame. Just tried the short look with smart shorts and I think it looks better than jeans.

I'm sure you will look miles better than the obese teenager I saw today wearing a particularly unflattering bum-baring style. Gah. My eyes are still watering.

Part of me thinks it's great that the youth of today have such confidence they can strut around with yards of celluite hanging out. Part of me is disgusted, Daily Mail-style.

Shorts and tights look better on me than dresses. My legs are my best bit so I hate covering them up.

Also I like the voluminous top, slim bottom look so wear shorts + tights + jumper + swing coat + ankle boots. Nice change to skinnies.

Something my teenage DDs do a lot. I wouldn't do it. But I'm sure you will get away with it!

Bill, how long are your shorts? Looking on PinInterest mine look slightly longer, two inches above knee rather than mid thigh.

Seriously, you can wear it. I'm over 40 and I do. Like others, I think it suits me better than jeans and most dresses. I just keep the tights opaque and the shorts bum covering!

I am 28 and live in shorts and tights. So comfy, goes with everything and is a bit of a change from jeans.

Glad there are other wearers. I shall continue then. Now I just need to find a chunky cardie that is long but not to my feet.

I'm 5'7" so not that tall, legs about average I think!

I do it all the time, 5'2", 23 and size 10. Normally really quite short shorts but completely cover my bum. I like it with high rise floaty shorts (skorts?) as well.

Do longer shorts look crap?

I always prefer the shorter (but not bum-baring) shorts to the longer ones. Always feel like a boy scout in longer shorts.

As long as your bumcheeks aren't hanging out the bottom i think it looks great.
