Help! Maternity/wedding dress needed

JammyTodger · 25/08/2014 12:58

So, I'll be 18 weeks when I get married and (at 10 weeks) I already have a massive gut beautifully proportioned bump. I was perfectly prepared to get wed in my pyjamas but DP has started talking about a new suit and I don't want to show him up. (DS5 has already announced he's dressing as a pirate...). Any recommendations for nice but not too fancy maternity dresses? My regular style is stuck in an 80s indie-kid time warp, I'm size 16 with short legs, 44, and don't really want to show my shoulders off. Can anyone help? I want to look cute on my wedding day damn it!

Are you wanting a 'wedding dress' or just a fab dress to get married in?

MrsLettuce · 25/08/2014 13:13

Actually, this would work in either case, unless you're after full length / spending more.

JammyTodger · 25/08/2014 13:20

No, def not a "wedding" dress. It's a very low key do and I don't really do dressing up. I'll have a look at the other asos dresses. The one you linked to is very pretty but I need a darker colour as I'm pale and ginger. Thank you so much for your input - I am totally clueless at buying anything that's not jeans/tshirts.

Ooh, there was a great green maxi, if you're a 'green' ginger.

JammyTodger · 25/08/2014 13:21

Oh, budget is up to £200 if it's really super duper fab.

more casual but lovely

Doh can't sort out my links on this new fangled thing. Love the green one but I'm worried they may be a bit too dressy for me. I'm going to have to get ordering and trying them on, aren't I? Eek

Oh MrsL I think you may have hit the jackpot. That blue one is gorgeous!

(many an x post)

AFAIK their dresses are lovely quality.

Tiffany Rose and Seraphine both have lovely "event" maternity dresses for under £200
