H&m boys sizing?

My DS is about to turn 2 and needs new clothes for the colder weather. He is still in 18-24 month tops easily, but tall and thin so out growing his 18-24 jeans in length but not waist, infact he is still wearing some 12-18 month clothes even though he is very tall for his age.
I love some of the tops on the h&m website and there is 10% off if I order this weekend but sizing goes 1 1/2-2yrs then 2-4yrs.
That seems such a huge jump in sizes! Anybody know how the sizing comes up in real life? (The chart means nothing to me!)

My DS is 7 and a similar shape to yours, tall and thin. H&M sizing is quite accurate and only very slightly generous. The slim fit jeans are great and have adjustable waists.

My ds is also tall, but not ahem, overly skinny, I bought him 2-4 t shirts when he was 18 months and they were on the large side at first but wearably so, they lasted him 3 summers as he thinned out and got taller.

I love H&M for my tall skinny boys. Quality is great and the designs are lovely.

So do you think 2-4 would drown him or be ok?

I think if he is on the tall side they should be fine. They fit ds best last summer at 2, before that we used them as baggy beach shirts, he outgrew them this spring he turned three and he's now into the 4-6.

Could you order both? What are their returns like?
