Hi, just looking for some recommendations. I have bare minerals fairly light and love the look. Perfect coverage for me, however, my skin is not v happy with it. It leaves me itchy and slightly spotty above my lips. I also get dry patches on my cheeks. Any advice? Thanks in advance

Are you using the Original one which isn't completely matte? If so, you kight be reacting to the bismuth oxychloride which is the ingredient that gives the slightly shimmery/pearl-like effect. It is known for causing irritation in form of itchiness and spots.
A mineral foundation without bismuth oxychloride might work better for you.

Thank you Carpaccio. Will have a look for one without bismuth.

I tried mineral face powder once and it irritated my skin to hell! And I thought it was good for me! The only face powder I can use in Max Factor

Try this

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aag/main?ie=UTF8&asin=&seller=AG76FEI9P66K6

or this

www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_sc_0_14/279-6713655-9846159?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mineral+hygienics&sprefix=mineral+hygeni%2Caps%2C276

I think you can also buy on e-bay.

Lily Lolo is very popular, I found it hard to blend but I am 40 so it might be better on younger skin.

I'm the same with Bare Minerals. Itchy and red and I feel like I want to claw my skin off.
Safmellow Have you tried the first link above? If so then what did you think? What was the coverage like. I liked the feeling with BM and it's good coverage when built up but the itching drove me crazy.
I know it's only £7 but I do have loads of make up so I don't want anything else that can be left in a drawer.

Hi, the pure magic minerals was fine, I bought the wrong colour though so am currently mixing it with another one. I would definitely purchase again - the seller sent me 4 small samples of different shades so I have a better idea now. Coverage was good if you build it up gradually, I found it easier with a flocked make-up sponge than a brush.

The only thing I would say is that it doesn't have the sheeny, iridescence of BM, but I guess that is the 'itchy' part!
