facial oils

As mentioned in another thread I have dry skin. Then if it really irritates me my eczema will flare leaving my face red and patchy.

Can anyone recommend me a facial oil? Cannot use anything from Boots No7. Tried a face cream yrs ago and it stung like hell. Although id love to try the serum they have but afraid of a flare up.

REN omega 3 serum oil. Goes on like an oil but not greasy, no real scent and loaded with omegas

I use decleor facial oils. Aromatherapy ones. They're not cheap though. You could go to a decleor desk in house of Fraser or somewhere similar and ask for a trial size?
I use neroli oil.

I use the Clinique moisturising gel. It's expensive but each bottle lasts a long time and it's perfect for me. I have combination skin - can get very dry and flaky, but still prone to spots in certain areas. It hydrates my skin but doesn't cause breakouts, it's not thick or oily either.

I swap nightly between the Tarte Maracuja oil and the Neals Yard Argan oil.

Both are lovely, and have made a huge difference in my skin.

Forgot to mention, both of those are 100% pure, so less likely to cause reactions

Have you tried any ordinary oils, op e.g. almond or coconut? I have sensitive skin and I use them rather than anything fancy. This is partly because facial oils tend to have too many ingredients for my liking and partly because I think they're taking the piss with their prices.

Never thought of almond oil! Where would I get it from? Im gonna pop I to town now to a clarins counter to ask nicely for a sample of the blue orchid oil.

Vitamin E Oil or Rosehip Oil (Pai is the best) are good. I think you are better sticking to pure oils. You can pay top whack for cosmetic brand oils, and I have, but pure oils are much cheaper and are effective. I buy from Amazon, which has a huge selection and useful reviews. You could also take a look at the Herb and Hedgerow site, which has information about various oils helpful for eczema prone skin. I hope you find something suitable.

I get mine from the supermarket, straight off the grocery shelf! It works for me and, if you don't like it, you can always cook with it instead

Oh ill try the corner chemist. Just googled it and Numark sell it for under £2 ! Bottle. Is it the pure or sweet I need or does it nit matter?

I've tried both and I don't think it matters.

OP I have rosacea and can have sore flare ups. I find fushi organic coconut oil and pure shea butter brilliant for my skin. They calm it down as well as moisturise.

I also like pure argan oil for the same reasons. I often mix this in with the coconut and shea butter. My skin loves it and I make sure I don't run out.

Well I went to see the nice girl at the clarins counter and she gave me samples of the blue orchid oil, night cream for normal/combì skin and dry/normal skin. Nice girl and I was so jealous if her skin hut she was about 20 yrs younger than me!

Also got 2 x 200ml bottle of almond oil from Holland and Barrett as I got one in the 1p sale.

I second the advice about ordinary oils. I have very dry skin on my face. I struggled for years to find a decent moisturiser, then I tried normal oils and would never go back. I use big cheapo tubs of coconut oil for my body, but it's not quite right for my face. Sweet almond oil, wheatgerm oil, argan oil, and even olive oil are all great.

I also picked up two bottles of sweet almond oil from Holland and Barratt in the 1p sale, bargain!

Oh yes I forgot EVOO (extra virgin olive oil). Fab for skin/OCM/overnight hair conditioner.
Also slap the oils on my body, especially underboob rashes and shaving rashes as they heal skin beautifully.

I personally wouldn't use anything but natural oils on my sore skin, these work so well. Have cleared up my flaky scalp and itchy armpits from deodorant use.

Another fan of ordinary oils for skin. I have used EVOO for 3 year snow, never going back to products again. I also use coconut oil for my spots, but mind, it can dry out your skin a bit. Avocado oil is really good for dry skin (from Sainsbury's, Waitrose etc). I also have a Weleda baby oil, it's just sesame oil with calendula, great for body.

Well tried the Clarins oil and the sample face cream last night. How lush!

My face is so soft this morning but still a bit tight but not a flaky patch in sight.

Also used the almond oil after shower and that was lush. Ill put a bit of that on now to allow it to sink in but I definitely think that oil is the way forward!

Op: I have eczema too I use bepanthan on the patch on my face (above my lip) curious to know about your eczema, never met anyone with it on their face too. Is it all over or just patches?

Just patches. Around my mouth and on my eyelids. Not always just when it flares. I also have red patches on my throat area and in the creases of my arms. I also have an annoying patch just outside my armpit.
