Boden petite

Hi, any help welcome.

I am thinking about buying a dress or two, maybe some accessories.

I am very short (4'11"), 34, and very lacking in self esteem, especially since I had DD2, who is 4 months old. After DD1 I snapped back. After DD2 I feel ruined. Maybe I'm a size 12, but in poor shape.

I find Boden vg for the girls. I currently live in one pair of maternity leggings, one pair of maternity jeans, and a few tops. My DD1 said to me 'mummy, why do you always wear the same clothes?'

I feel quite worthless at the moment. Getting finally to the point, could you please recommend me any petite Boden clothes (dresses in particular)? We are moving soon, DD1 is starting school, and I want to look at least semi normal.

Any other recommendations for petite clothes gratefully received.

Not bought Boden so can't help you there, but have you thought of booking in with a personal shopper?

You only gave birth 4 months ago! I took at least 6 months, probably nearer 9, to get back near previous size after my second. I thought i never would and threw out clothes that I would now fit into. Don't be so hard on yourself and don't buy too many clothes at the moment till your shape settles down.

So recommendations - unfortunately didn't see much in the petite section. These seem to me to be the best. I'm 5ft 2 and would order the normal length of these as they would fit more like a dress rather than a tunic. I have tried on similar to the trailing spot tunic from previous year and it is nice quality jersey, really easy to throw on. They've got free P+P and return so just order loads and try stuff on. sure you will find something you will like.

Other tunic type top that would fit as a dress:

I'm going to say don't be so hard on yourself, but it's not going to make you feel better me just saying it.

Don't know much about Boden but Banana Republic have a great petite range, definitely worth a look. Topshop and Asos are very good for basics (Asos has a massive range!), and Next have a broad selection for everyday stuff. Also worth getting a good seamstress or lady tailor to get things just how you want them. Nothing worse than feeling like you're wearing your mum's clothes when you're short.

I found getting the basics sorted with my hair and makeup helped a lot when I felt down about how I looked. Everything else just builds on those things.
