I cant decide. The fact that they're from Ecco makes me doubt they're nice ess.

I like them apart from the brown tread on the sole. Also they are a bit too tall for my liking but that's just personal preference!

You can't really go wrong with plain black leather that has no decorative features.

TheCraicDealer · 19/08/2014 14:13

Hmm, there's something a bit 'off' with them, think it's the height. If you look at these from Dune they just seem a bit more sleek or something.

I may well be talking balls.

CoconutAmericano · 19/08/2014 14:16

I want a bit of height so that doesn't bother me. I think it's that brown tread as you say felix. I will check out Dune, thanks craic

Comfiest boot I ever owned were Ecco lace ups. Sadly their non lace ups are always too wide.

scarletforya · 19/08/2014 14:40

They're a bit masculine.

DuchessFanny · 19/08/2014 14:49

I prefer the Dune ones, but can't put my finger on why
..

I recently tried on some very nice leather chelsea boots in TK Maxx which were only £38 Shock Unfortunately I needed the next size up which they didn't have. May be worth a look if anyone is wanting some.

CoconutAmericano · 19/08/2014 15:02

see masculine doesn't bother me. i am on the look out for chelsea boots and these caught my eye on display in the window. i went in and felt them and they were nice and light and made of leather. but something is not quite right i think?

I see what you mean, there's something a bit off with them.

What about these from Russell and Bromley

lynniep · 19/08/2014 15:15

There are these lovely boots! Yes ok thats a blatant link to some I'm selling. But they really are very nice!

CoconutAmericano · 19/08/2014 15:25

the Russell and bromley boots are stunning. so so over budget but the biz!

OP posts:
AlpacaYourThings · 19/08/2014 15:28

Ah sorry!

I think I don't like the ECCO boots because the leather looks 'spongy', IYKWIM.

CoconutAmericano · 19/08/2014 16:19

Yes i do alpaca. That might be the problem all right. No rush with me finding some anyway. Thanks.

The Dune ones look more like a jodhpur boot than what I'd call a Chelsea boot but I cannot describe what the difference is.
I think a jodhpur boot has a flatter heel and straighter sole.

ElephantsNeverForgive · 19/08/2014 23:46

I've been to too many country shows not to feel a fraud in those RB boots. My DFs could ride I can't Sad

Dontgotosleep · 20/08/2014 13:36

Well they're not to my taste.

adviceforme · 20/08/2014 15:51

Masculine contrast with feminine is supposed to be on trend

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/08/2014 15:54

M&S often have v nice Chelsea boots, and cheaper than those in the OP plus far, far cheaper than the R&B ones. The quality is generally good too.

CoconutAmericano · 20/08/2014 20:08

Thank you for all the lovely links ladies Smile
shia those boots are gorgeous and a friggin steal!!

I went completely against what i wanted Blush which was classic Chelsea boots, and bought a pair of Vagabond boots instead. Chunkier than i planned to buy but very solid and grippy and as i walk everywhere i thought they were a good buy. These:

Very comfy too Smile

And i was having a no spend August too

Ah thanks felix. I did try on some chelsea boots today but they were all very slippy and slidey.
