New job, need new clothes - help please

Hi,

I've got a new job starting next week. I'm booked to have my haircut tomorrow and a shopping expedition on Thursday.

The role is fairly high level, but the company is less formal than I'm used to (I've always worked in suits previously), I need some advice on where to look for dresses, less formal suits.

Any advice? Thanks

I'm not really qualified to post in S&B but I just got some cheap nice straight leg trousers from Mango. And they actually fit well! (First time ever, I think).

I bought them online, and had to navigate by inside leg measurement (>30in). But v impressed.

Congrats on your job and good luck with the shopping!

Thanks very much, I'll check out what they've got on line.

If you've got loads of suits, might you want to loose your least favourite jackets, and wear the bottoms / dresses without the jacket?

ie reuse most of what you already have unless of course you WANT to go shopping, in which case knock your self out

I've lost a stone in weight as well, so I'd really like some new stuff. Happy to spend around £600 for 3 outfits.

tethersend · 18/08/2014 20:49

His do you feel about something like this?

Or this?

MuttonCadet · 18/08/2014 20:54

Love both those tethers.

I'm a size 12, long blonde hair, I suit blues and pastels, must have sleeves, but short sleeves are okay.

Thanks so much for your help, this is exciting Smile

blue VW

MuttonCadet · 18/08/2014 21:07

Love the Mabel too, and yy to balloon sleeved dress. I always wanted a Vivienne Westwood, but at the moment I think a 10 is a bit of a stretch Wink

tethersend · 20/08/2014 21:34

I think cos sizing is quite generous.
