Barbour jacket sizing

Can anyone tell me what Barbour sizing is like please? I am planning to layer a jumper underneath it, so a little extra room might be good. Thanks.

Slightly generous. I'm 12/14 and have a 14 which I bought not long after I'd had a baby so the 12 would fit now but I prefer bigger to layer as you mentioned. They are less generous around the bust than the waist

I take a size 8 in most makes now (not New Look/Miss Selfridge, but most "adult" stores) and my Barbour coat is a size 10.

They come up small. I have a navy fitted one in a 10 and it's a small 10

I size up as I find them a bit small in the shoulders.

Diff styles I'm diff sizes!! My wax is a 10 too but could later up, my winter down type is an 8 and a bit snug , my lightweight waterproof is an 8 and fits perfectly. Not much help me

Mine's an 8 but comes up a little bit generous. Great for winter if you want to layer up but a but annoying for an autumn/spring day.

Hmmm, thanks for the (v mixed!) replies. I may just order two sizes and take advantage of the free returns.

I also find they vary depending on the style. I personally have not tried any that have been generous in size. I would probably go with your usual size or size up. If you have a generous chest or shoulders definately size up.
