What should I pack?
One day in Barcelona, rest beach based.
5 days.
Will have comfy shoes for walking in Barcelona, am hoping a few maxi dresses and cardis will be acceptable cash strapped will this be warm enough?
Couple of bikinis some beach dresses and flip flops?
Toiletries and suntan lotion?
What else?

Very excited!! Grin

I dunno but that sounds cold

An umbrella, some trousers. Average temperatures are about 22 degrees and they get 10 days of rain in October so you might be unlucky and get some rain.

Frantastic I too am going in October and very excited! We'll be city-based, with our 1-yr old (so no nights out...:() maybe with one day at the beach, and I'm planning the following:

Boyfriend jeans
Chinos
Maxi skirt
Smartish day dress
Vest tops and jersey t-shirts for layering
Jersey blazer
Neutral cardi
Lightweight rain jacket (not stylish but whatevs)
Comfy gladiator sandals and pumps
Couple of lightweight scarves
Statement jewellery (hate that phrase...Don't tell anyone I've used it...)

FrantasticO · 16/08/2014 23:50

Oh dear, you can tell I'm used to being in a cold climate!
So rethink whole wardrobe?
Been away on family summer hols, was hoping to reuse...not likely.
So ...bank robbers...we like...yes?

Take a cross body zip top handbag as there can be some pickpockets, as there are a lot of distractions there.

Hopefully weather will be OK we went in October for 5 days and loved it, one day was wet and the rest about 20C and dry.

Have a good holiday.

I was there in early October two years ago. It was hotter than I had expected and found myself very warm in jeans during the day. I wished I'd packed some floaty dresses!

Bunbaker · 17/08/2014 08:55

I think the weather can be very changeable at that time of year, so you could be lucky and get 25 degrees every day, but you could be unlucky, so you need to pack for all weather scenarios, except snow.

Thanks everyone, off to see what I have, then a trip to shops might be needed.
Shopping is not my favourite activity so fingers crossed I can cobble some appropriate outfits from existing wardrobe! Grin

Thanks again.
