Bra intervention request

chocolatemartini · 14/08/2014 22:03

Any lovely bra fitting mumsnetters about?

I've always worn 32 or 34 A or B. never been comfortable. I've got the basics of the bra intervention thing I think, downsize the band and upsize the cup from your old fashioned m&s type fitting...

So my measurements are 27.5 inches under, 37 round the bust when leaning forward. What size do I need? Never heard of a band size under 30!

I would suggest starting with a 28G and working from there.

Your poor boobs!

chocolatemartini · 14/08/2014 22:20

Thanks, will do. Yeah my poor boobs. I gave up wearing a bra for significant periods of my youth as they were always so uncomfortable. Can't get away with it any more so time to get it right I think! I've seen some 28s on bravissimo just now, will start looking around for more options.

Any recommendations gratefully received for where to look.

Bravissimo, brastop, Leia lingerie, my curves and me, figleaves, amazon (honestly), debenhams ...they're easy enough to get online, and in Bravissimo stores.

Thanks. I'm not finding much in 28G! It can't be that uncommon a size, I'm a pretty normal looking size 8-10. I expect a lot of people my shape think they're 32A. I wonder if the bra sizing revolution will eventually hit the department stores.

John Lewis and Debenhams are pretty good on the high street. Figleaves does free returns and 10% off if you sign up for their emails. I quite often do a big order from them so I can try on at home.

Loads of 28G! The websites I mentioned all have loads of 28s

chocolatemartini · 16/08/2014 13:08

Thanks all. Still can't find any I like but at least I know what I'm looking for now.

In a 28 or 30 back and a large cup size they will look a little different to the styles you've probably been wearing but do give them a go - your boobs and back will thank you for it!

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/08/2014 13:29

What are you looking for that you cant find? I suspect you will think they look quite "big" and full coverage, but that's really common when changing to the right size because people are generally wearing cups that don't actually encase their entire breast.

chocolatemartini · 17/08/2014 11:35

Yes that's exactly the problem. I'm used to dainty little garments. Need to go somewhere and try some on, will try and get into town to Debenhams or JL. Will update Smile
