Faux leather leggings

I know they are a marmite item but I quite fancy a pair this A/W. Hoping to dress them down with knitwear and ankle boots so day wear rather than for evenings out. I've tried the mint velvet ones but they were more like trousers and didn't have any stretch. Any other recommendations? I'm fairly tall 5ft 8 so need good length ones ideally.
Anyone else planning on wearing them this a/w? Or should I stick with skinny jeans?

I'm very tempted... Wanted them last year then didn't do it, put a bit of weight on (big 12/small 14) so now think I may be too big :(

Choca did you go as far as trying any on in your quest last year?

I think they only suit those without an inch of fat. Otherwise no way.

Are you set on leggings?

I ordered some trousers from La Redoute and they look great (and quite flattering in the bum area). They have a stretchy panel on the Iinside leg so they are comfy and very close-fitting at the same time. I think they were about £25.

I am a size 14 btw :)

I tried some on last A/W and I have chunky but tall legs. It was utterly horrific and they feel so plasticky

I have a couple of pairs of pleather leggings from TopShop (they are stretchy). I'm quite tempted to upgrade to leather this winter. They are the warmest form of trousers [helpful].

I think they only work if you are slim and a bit rock and roll looking already. Worn smart they look a bit loose women Xmas party.

I thought I'd try leggings this year and if I get a lot of wear out of them then invest in real leather next year - thermal qualities does appeal! I'm fairly slim so hoping I can pull them off. I've been looking on Pinterest and like them really dressed down with denim shirts, flats etc as well as knitwear & boots in the winter. trying to justify buying them now.
Will check out the Topshop ones. Any other recommendations?

Not quite faux leather, but there's an Australian company called Black Milk that sell all kinds of wonderful patterned leggings, and have some shiny wet-look black leggings with amazing stretch qualities for not too much money. I bought them recently and they have a real leathery look to them. They're quite thin as they are made from a normal super stretch material, rather than leather or pleather, so more of a summer-autumn item.
