I've been eyeing this up for a while. I really like it. Does anybody have it? I was reading some old threads about the gold plate wearing off so that would be a concern.

I've not got it, but, yes, gold plate will rub off in time. it's just a matter of wear unfortunately. Can't say if this ring is more prone to wear than any other plate though, sorry.

(it's very pretty)

MrsLettuce · 11/08/2014 20:47

Oh right, I see it comes in solid silver. Would you not consider that? Mind you, the Care Information bit seems to imply that they can re-plate for a fee.

i have it! it's really lovely, and although the plate has worn off a little on the inside it's barely noticeable. i have big fat sausage fingers and they had to make one for me specially which was no bother. i'd definitely get one.

Thanks girls, appreciate the replies. MrsLettuce, I don't like it as much in the silver and gold suits my skin tone better. Glad to read your reply hoxty, you've convinced me especially if they can replate. It's a pity they charge for the replating, I bought a set of earrings and a necklace from an American company that are worth a lot less than Alex Monroe stuff and they didn't charge me at all to have them replated, they provide the service for free.

Nothing helpful to say apart from that is very lovely and I now want one.
I also had no idea jewellers would replate!

I know Liveinthepresent, I've been eyeing it up for a long time. I've a 10 year wedding anniversary coming up in October and my 40th in March so it's going to be on my wish list!

Perfect excuse!

Perfect excuse, indeed. Go for it! It's so pretty.
