What is the experience like? Did you end up spending a fortune? Did you get clothes you actually like/wear.
I've lost 2 stone and would like to get a new capsule wardrobe, but don't have a clue what to get/where to go.
I'm now a size 12, have 2 boys 2 and 9 months and am a full time teacher. I would like separate work/casual wear. I'm a pear shape (I think).
Any suggestions of where to shop or any help I can get apart from kidnapping Gok Wan would be really appreciated !

Just realised mine was at House of Fraser, not Debenhams! Don't know why I thought it was Debenhams. I hate Debenhams.

Hey I used the HoF PS today - success! Despite most brands having swapped to winter gear, they helped me out with my Ibiza issues and didn't mind me whizzing thru the racks at speed - had to rush to pick up kids in time. A couple of unexpected choices and a brand that I didn't know at all, some fun colour choices, they found me some lingerie that I didn't need in the end, plus Emily was kind enough to giveme advice about where to go on the high st - top shop! Haven't been in years but was quite pleasantly surprised.

So a big yes for shopping for an event.

Used JL service several times now, and never been disappointed. It's so helpful to get another perspective on what suits you. The free coffee and lovely personal changing rooms don't hurt either ...

Sorry to be negative but I found John Lewis terrible. I told them 'my colours' (and they offer a colour service so know what it means) and they totally ignored them - and got me ones that were the opposite (I am a 'bright spring' and they got me beiges and washed out colours.) I also told them i liked Whistles, Reiss, All Saints etc and they bought me Phase 8 and Mint Velvet. Probably depends on who you get...

These guys are lovely: 48 London. I was recommended by two different people who don't know each other to use them to help me find outfits for a weekend long wedding abroad with various different events indoors and outdoors. They were so sweet and helpful; I want to recommend them to everyone! I have since recommended them to friends and acquaintances who have also been really impressed. They are based in London but will travel. (My stylist was H.).

Hope you find what you are looking for, OP. Smile

Has anyone used an independent personal shopper recently (in London) who they would recommend please? I’m a 35 year old doctor who feels frumpy and unattractive with zero confidence. I never know what to buy to suit me and I’d be willing to spend a fair bit of money for someone to help me invest in a new wardrobe which made me look and feel good. Thanks in advance for any help.

Had a great experience with John Lewis. Got whole new wardrobe after Maternity leave. Still wearing it all now.

No hard sell. Spent £450. Worth every penny.
