Best liquid eyeliner?

I last bought liquid eyeliner (Lancome) in 1998, and it is still going strong. God know what's in it, but I am starting to think that perhaps I should replace it before I lose an eye. Would like recommendations please! I want a black one with a very thin brush - have never got on with those felt-tip pen ones.

And whilst, back in 1998, I had a penchant for expensive make-up, I am long over that. So, the more bargainous, the better.

Place marking - I'm very happy with my so-dark-brown-it-looks-black one from bourjois but I've only ever had this one so I want to know if I'm missing out on something even better!

I have the little pot of black gear from MAC and the angled brush for application.

It's great - I bought this one last sept and it's still 1/2 full and I already had the brush.

It's great and really easy to apply x

I use the benefit mascara which is ace and was recently reading about their gel eyeliner which gets awsome reviews. But i've not tried it so cant really comment!!

I've just bought the new Benefit gel liner, it's fab!

Honestly the Lancome art liner is the best as far as I'm concerned. I wear it every day and it doesn't budge, has the best nib etc.

Cheaper options I've heard good things about are the MAC and Stila. I have had no success with the 'budget' options.

I borrowed DD1's cheapo Liquid Eyeliner from Barry M, and it's brilliant. I'm going to buy myself one.

monsterowl · 07/08/2014 10:43

Thanks everyone! Might given the Barry M a try and keep my vintage Lancome one on standby in case I don't like it. If all else fails I'll just buy a new Lancome one. At least then I'll know I don't need to buy any more until 2030 :D

Guerlain is the best liquid eyeliner I've found.

Primark £1 liquid eyeliner, very black, easy to apply and doesn't run or flake like the million other brands that I have tried. I use it daily and always pick another up every time that I'm in town to stock pile Grin

squoosh · 07/08/2014 14:08

Oooooh interesting, must try Primark's.

monsterowl · 07/08/2014 14:12

Wow, Portly, will definitely give that a try!

Rommel Exaggerate Eyeljner. Have used it for over 10 years (not the same one!) and never found a better one.

BeetlebumShesAGun · 07/08/2014 19:13

Er, Rimmel.

YorkshireTeaGold · 08/08/2014 18:28

I second rimmel! Very definite black line , stays put but washes off. I was unable to get my usual Bobbi Brown gel stuff so got this from local boots and v impressed.

I'd like to try the Rommel liner though! Very Desert Foxy.
