She is so bloody stylish, extremely pretty, her DD is gorgeous and her life (especially the summer just spent in Italy) appears pretty damn perfect. I'm sure it's not really but she does a great job of portraying it as such.

I'm interested to know what her new project is now that she's resigned from Red.

Anyone else seriously envious of her?

I love reading her blog, as it does look pretty.

I was surprised at how plain looking her sisters are in their pics. I don't mean it in an insulting way, they just looked like regular women and didn't have the uber-style of Laura.

Another GOMI reader here - I find it positively therapeutic.

I follow a lot of fashion blogs: I find that I often admire a blog at first but then start getting increasingly frustrated at the blogger so that reading the blog turns into more of a hate-read than anything else. It's such a relief to find like-minded people on GOMI because there's an unbelievable amount of smugness and pretentiousness in the blogosphere.

Already Pretty is on another level altogether in terms of sheer delusion - I absolutely love the analysis on GOMI!

Frugality's glasses remind me of that creepy photographer Terry Richardson - ew. I think she needs a new pair of specs.

The other thing I don't like about The Frugality is that she doesn't (seem to) dress to suit her figure and colouring, it's all about what is on trend. Fair enough I suppose, especially given her day job, but it's completely alien to me.

I doubt her blog will sell if she is portrayed as a regular Mum blogger, and I don't think she wants to portray that image and I admire her for that,
And I don't know why everyone is commenting on the money factor . she has money , so what? Sure she has help too, but I don't see why it's such an issue,lots of people do,

I like it to look at but it's very expensive. One of the many things putting me off Red was the staff being used as subjects of the articles and she was the most guilty party.

I like the frugality, I get the impression she doesn't actually have much money and all her purchases are saved for / thought about. But her glasses drive me nuts, she's very pretty and supposedly a style leader and then she is a total sheep and gets big black geeky glasses, they don't suit you love. The don't suit anyone.

Not wanting to be vulgar or anything, Santa, but I have friends with money, too, and also I probably earn four or five times WIT's salary (magazine salaries are tiny, I'm not peculiarly rich).

The thing that makes me a bit pukey is the extent to which WIT flaunts her wealth. Instagramming your Chanel and then hiring an unpaid intern? What a prize tit you are.

I've never looked at her instagram before. The juxtaposition of those 2 pics is ugh. Of course, she is far from being the only IG bragger Rosie Londoner comes to mind

Sometimes I contemplate having an anti-instagram complete with pictures of my cluttered house, tasty but not photogenic home-cooked dinners, etc.

It's all got a bit silly recently. I really used to admire WIT and quite like The Frugality but now, I don't know, it's all a bit tasteless and narcissistic. The post for an expenses only Intern really grated, I thought that was all illegal now?

I really want to like Laura. She seems genuinely lovely and has the most wonderful innate style but recently, everything just seems so contrived. I loved what Amber said about wishing WIT would just say fuck it and wear tracksuit bottoms and give GZ fishfingers for tea!

I doubt she paid £40 for GZ's swimsuit, she probably gets massive discounts everywhere plus as I've always suspected, she comes from money. I think in addition to her husband's house in Sicily, she stayed in various properties belonging to her family. If memory serves, her father has something to do with holiday resorts, so I imagine she probably gets to holiday there too. Her holiday looked amazing and thoroughly enjoyed all her Instagrams.
To be clear, I have no issue with the fact she has money. In fact, I like that she'd rather buy an investment bag rather than several cheap and cheerful ones. I also like how she's all about classic timeless investment pieces of clothing. What I do struggle with is that it's all got so expensive and unattainable now. Even so, she wears it all so well and I do find her the most inspiring out of the bloggers I follow and quite a few of my purchases have been directly influenced by her.

The Frugality mostly pisses me off. I really want to like her but she seems to miss the point repeatedly. I hated how she bought cheap knock off copies of Eames chairs as I doubt she'd ever buy a counterfeit handbag and a few days ago, she posted a pic on Instagram of about 8 pairs of slides all recently purchased. She seems (and other bloggers too) just seem to encourage people to buy more than they need. The constant new outfit posts are misleading as part of the reason they're able to buy so much stuff is because of their discounts. I think they need to be far more open about this.

Unrelated but the blog I really don't get is Atlantic Pacific. It's just another tall, thin blonde with really bad matchy matchy dress sense who wears far too much jewellery! Still, it always makes me chuckle when it appears on my Bloglovin' feed and for that I'm thankful!

I think the reason everything seems contrived lately is because she is branching out on her own since she left Red and trying to create the WIT brand.

I stand by my OP though, I think the image she portrays is fantastic and I love her style, but I'm not daft enough to think her life is really as perfect as her Instagram feed would have us think!

Definitely agree re bloggers and this board encouraging us to buy more than we need though, I buy or lust after far too many things I never knew I 'needed' after reading them.

I read a few of these style blogs and have noticed that they often copy each other - and even acknowledge it. So dull to see the same slides, sweatshirt, designer jeans etc. Meh.

I've never understood the appeal of her blog. I don't see anything original in her style, very formulaic and dull. I guess she fits the type of the magazine she worked for and that wouldn't be my area of fashion. I don't know her personally but do know many in the industry who are lovely and what I would consider super stylish. There are many important stylists who don't seek the limelight personally, it isn't necessary for their work.

On the cash front, lots of people have it, particularly females working in the fashion industry are likely to come from wealthy backgrounds or married to money, since the pay is so little and I have no issue with that. I have a massive issue with people featuring their kids on blogs and feel very strongly against it. Anonymity has a lot to be said for it, at any age.

On the holiday front, lots of people will be enjoying lovely holidays this August and for many it's traditional to take the month off, myself included. I hope she had a great time but wouldn't feel comfortable to share so much of my life like that, it makes me feel deeply uncomfortable and goes against the values I was brought up with of discretion and privacy.

In also think bloggers do a lot of purchasing and returning. So they "shop the sales" saying they bought x, y and z. But they send it all back. Schoolgatestyle does that, although she is open about the fact she's returning stuff.

Never heard of her. Just looked her up. I think what you are envious of is her almost idyllic Italy long holiday more than anything else..the photos looked fab.
What you didnt see was her changing her dds nappy on the beach cos its leaked all over her frilly little pants, sand in her louis vuitton bag, snot and vomit, child who wont go to sleep etc etc
