Those pyjama kinda trousers!

Not sure of proper name! Keen to try a pair before the summer ends! Tried a pair in new look, but they were horrendous on me! Willing to try again though if anyone can link to a nice pair.

  • quite tall, about 5 ft 8
  • a good size 14 in trousers, large of hip and thigh
  • would like a nice pattern, but nothing TOO wild!
  • preferably navy or black based, but really not essential

Ideally less than £30 as probably a fashion item, rather than classic.

Also, some styling tips would be good. Don't really like closely fitting t shirts or vests as I need to disguise my tummy!

Thank you so much!Thanks

I got some in Next yesterday while I was there picking up something else. DH asked me today why I was dressed as Aladdin but I love them, they are sooo comfy.

IfUSeekAmy · 10/08/2014 20:51

Didn't see that waiting had put 'sooo comfy' in post above! Wasn't copying, honest guv!

Valsoldknickers · 10/08/2014 21:12

Love mine, however when DH was helping to put clean laundry away last week they ended up folded in the drawer where I keep my pj's and nighties, shows what he thinks of them Grin

Ha ha val I want to buy some more when I have the funds. Next had some lovely designs and I will check out Forge Boutique too when I get a chance.

summerlovingliz · 10/08/2014 21:26

Just got some lovely black with white bits in Monsoon Smile

yazzy85 · 11/08/2014 01:25

I bought these from Dorothy Perkins on the weekend in plain black and plain red. They come in tall sizes as well and are very flattering as the material is flowy and drapes well. It is not jersey or patterned so its less of a pyjamas look.

DD18 loves them. She bought a load of pairs in Thailand when she ran out of clean clothes and got hooked on them as they're so comfortable. Last week she bought some more in Quicksilver.

LightastheBreeze · 11/08/2014 05:46

Yazzy Just looked at your DP link, thanks, and bought those trousers in the blue and also a blue pattern in tall in the sale Smile

I am meant to be buying nothing in August but couldn't resist a bargain and long ones are hard to get

Used DELAUG4U for free delivery

Pastperfect · 11/08/2014 07:29

I have the tile print top shop ones linked above and various pairs from Dorothy Perkins, which are a really good fit on me.

I wear them with flat sandals and silk t-s in the day or with heels and a cami in the evening. Bizarrely they are one of my cheapest outfits and definitely get the most compliments

IfUSeekAmy · 11/08/2014 07:43

I have some like that too yazzy Was an impulse buy in New Look the other week. Very comfortable. Those ones you linked to are a bargain

PinkSquash · 11/08/2014 10:10

Would they only be suitable to wear with sandals Or is there a closed foot option for wetter weather?

IfUSeekAmy · 11/08/2014 10:37

I wear mine with laceless plimsolls. I'm currently contemplating ordering some from Victoria Plimsolls as they have lovely colours. I only have white and they are in the washing machine once a week as they get grubby so quickly.

TomatoSorbetWoman · 11/08/2014 10:40

i think they COULD work with wedge desert boots in the autumn and a denim shirt

TomatoSorbetWoman · 11/08/2014 10:41

the word comfy DOEs strike fear into my heart

I remember jeggings - I just put on weight without a waistband

TomatoSorbetWoman · 11/08/2014 10:42

think i do prefer these though, as someone who doesnt suit volume on my legs

TomatoSorbetWoman · 11/08/2014 10:42

wow at those topshop ones - vilerama

TomatoSorbetWoman · 11/08/2014 10:43

you seem i am SO over the patterned troo thing.

Pastperfect · 11/08/2014 11:04

I personally don't like them with boots - IMO the tapered leg works best with a bit of bare ankle.

RonaldMcDonald · 11/08/2014 11:09

Do you mean the ones that look like actual pj bottoms or the kind of harem pants that are still hanging around from last season?

The actual pj bottoms look great with a tight formal shirt and heels

RonaldMcDonald · 11/08/2014 11:14

like this except with a less clashing shirt

Those pyjama kinda trousers!
yazzy85 · 11/08/2014 12:10

Glad to hear you liked them LightastheBreeze, they are a great price online!! They would work well with flats or heels, not sure about boots because the material is floaty not fitted like skinny jeans and boots..

PinkSquash · 11/08/2014 12:41

I'm going to risk some of those DP ones, blue and red as they have tall. I'll try them with pimps and sandals if I can find ones to fit.

PinkSquash · 11/08/2014 12:41

Pumps not pimps. They definitely wouldn't suit the Pimp stylee
