So had a bra fitting today ...

Went to Bravissimo as I usually do. Whenever I've been fitted in the past I've always been more or less spot on with what I've been wearing - maybe a cup size out here or there. But today I went from a 38F (which I was last fitted in) to a 32G. Shock
Can that possibly be right? Granted some of my bras have become a wee bit baggy recently but that just seems an awful jump. I looked at the assistant as if she was mad when she suggested it!

Well it could be right, especially if your current bras have felt a bit big. Which bras did you try and how do they feel/look?

I tried a few Bravissimo own ones and a couple of Freya's. They felt tight (well they would - going from a 38 to a 32!) but not unbearable, although that was only a couple of minutes in the shop.

The key to whether it can be right is where were you fitted before? Many other shops like marks and Spencer use an outdated approach where they add 4-5" to your underbust to get the band size. Plus they never measure very tight -so a snug 32 becomes a loose 33 or 34 then they add inches and suddenly you're in a baggy 38! I'm a 30hh and marks shoved me in a frankly useless 36f

Hmm. Op says bravissimo both times.

Have you lost a load of weight?

StatisticallyChallenged · 05/08/2014 08:27

Missed that - reading on a phone. It could be weight loss, lots of people lose easily from band size.

TBH if you were really a 38, you wouldn't be able to do up a 32. IME if your bra fits well you will sometimes be able to do up the size below but not always - I can get some 28s done up but I sure as heck couldn't do up a 26 never mind a 24.
