Corn Silk Loose Powder.

Has anyone used this?

Would you recommend it?

I currently flit between Chanel natural finish loose powder and Tom Ford finishing powder but I read a few reviews about Corn Silk being almost like a filter for the skin.

If you currently use it or have used it in the past would you recommend it?

I'm pretty sure my grandma used to use this and she was always immaculate.

TheFillyjonk · 04/08/2014 18:47

If it's corn starch, you can buy a big container of corn starch powder and try that - cheaper in the long run!

DodobirdVerdict · 04/08/2014 18:49

I used to have a jar, found it too drying, mineral powder works better on me. Chucked it out in a clearout.

stoopstofolly · 04/08/2014 18:53

I've worn it for 15 years- it looks a lot more natural in me than than any other powder, but I do have combination skin, so quite an oily T zone. I use the Demi matt one not the matt as it looks really natural.

beachywaves · 04/08/2014 19:01

I love it - never looks powdery and I adore the smell.

SuperWifeANDMum · 04/08/2014 19:02

Stoopstofolly I have incredibly oily skin. What is the longevity like?

I like it although I bought the matt one and wished I had bought the other version.

SuperWifeANDMum · 04/08/2014 19:14

Where are you purchasing it from? Boots have sold out and so has amazon. :(

www.yahoo.com/beauty/why-corn-silk-powder-is-better-than-an-instagram-filter-93516625023.html might explain why it's sold out

shoeprincess2 · 04/08/2014 19:19

There's some on ebay for 299!!

Madaboutthrows · 04/08/2014 19:20

I have a nearly full pot and compact somewhere..!

SuperWifeANDMum · 04/08/2014 19:21

It's these articles that have alerted me to this powder. Grin

Try a small local pharmacy

StrumpersPlunkett · 04/08/2014 19:24

ah My granny always used that brand.. thanks for the memory jog.. am now sitting here reminiscing about her lovely skin and smell. Smile

StairsInTheNight · 04/08/2014 19:26

You can buy it in boots. I have loose and compact and use it every day. It's great stuff, very natural.

VeganCow · 04/08/2014 19:34

I use it, the satin one. Does not look like a mask, very natural.

SuperWifeANDMum · 04/08/2014 19:37

I have tried Boots and Boots online and no luck unfortunately.

I will have a look in the local pharmacist to see of they stock it.

I'm dying to get my hands on some.

VeganCow does it make you look airbrushed?

It's just a fad

I used it 20 years ago, it was ok. But powders are finely milled now

VeganCow · 04/08/2014 19:42

No, its more sheer than that but you can build it up. I use it over foundation.

I buy it from Amazon.

VeganCow · 04/08/2014 19:45

Some powders settle into lines/dry bits, this doesnt. Also the satin one leaves a very slight shimmer, looks very natural. it is good if you have oily skin as it takes the oil away without leaving your skin like a mask.

Petal02 · 04/08/2014 20:24

I swear by Cornsilk loose powder, it's the only thing that works on my combination skin.

Coumarin · 04/08/2014 23:35

I used to use this all the time about 10 years ago. It was my first loose powder and I thought I was very fancy. Grin

It caught my eye again this weekend actually. Might try it out again. It's cheap enough.

Kittykat7 · 05/08/2014 05:17

I've used it for 23 years. I am make up artist & beauty therapist. It's the best I've tried. I use the Satin one. Boots & some small local chemists stock it.

stoopstofolly · 05/08/2014 10:31

It lasts ages on me- I gave the compact as well for a lunch time touch up, but only ever need to do my nose!

SuperWifeANDMum · 05/08/2014 18:17

I got some!!! I actually love it. It's nigh on identical to my Chanel loose powder. It's brilliant.

Thank you everyone for your responses.
