Max factor masterpiece waterproof, it's in a gold tube with a blue band. Not expensive and works really well, I go swimming with it on and it doesn't budge.

Lottapianos · 02/08/2014 17:41

I like Doll'd Up by Seventeen from Boots. Nice fanned out lashes, costs about 6 quid and no smudging

Hello!

My first opportunity to be Evangelical about tubing mascaras and to thank all the wonderful posters here who pointed me in their direction about a week ago. Sorry can't link to my ask thread but I've not name changed and so look for something like 'tube mascaras?'..... Cos yep! I read about them here first..

so, following suggestions here I trialed 2 products first off".......Boots No7 Stay Perfect (bonus for me is that they do a black/brown shade) and Superdrug B.Longer lengthening and defining mascara, for my colouring a minus was only that the colour they had was Black so a bit harsh during the day, but fab for evening lighting.

Absolute revelAtion this 'tubing' stuff is...had no idea that things had moved on,actually, from the spit-on-a-block-type"......ok I might be exaggerating but it really felt that I was living in my mum's time warp.

Basic principle is that lashes are encased with"...dunno.....sommat plastic-y?, impervious to sweat/sun oil etc, and yet which is removed easily with just water?

Magic, I tell ya.

Pure and absolute magic.

And I learned about it here.

And so you give me the opportunity to thank again all the posters who made it all possible for me..

Shops are open on Sundays....g'won, give it a go.

Let's spread The Word

:) :) :)

YSL faux cills. I'm always being complimented on my lashes, and it's stays put through swimming and sweating. Pricey tho.

Jumblebee · 02/08/2014 21:50

Second for tubing mascara, Clinique lash power is my holy grail of mascaras Smile

LordTumble · 02/08/2014 22:01

Another vote for They're Real by Benefit. That stuff does not budge!

Kundry · 03/08/2014 08:22

I also bought the No 7 Stay Perfect after the thread last week - it's brilliant!

Don't think I would ever buy a non-tubing mascara now. Stays put, no smudging or smearing, waterproof and then comes off so easily when you want it to.

Walnut8 · 03/08/2014 08:36

Diorshow Iconic (I like the overcurl version).

I have tried SO MANY recently (its quite expensive and I tried to find a cheaper alternative). This is the only one that looks amazing and stays put.

MrsDavidBowie · 03/08/2014 08:39

Bobbi brown waterproof

bikermouse1 · 03/08/2014 10:43

I'm a big fan of Clinique stuff but didn't fancy what I was reading as 'Clinique lash powDer' before... Images of it getting on my eyeball, etc.
Duh!
I'm off to the US for Xmas so I'm putting it on my list of must-buys when I'm there now.

And I'd better get myself off to Specsavers :)

Glad you got the Boots stuff, Kundry. Fab isn't it

Btw it comes off easily with just water, no need for special eye makeup removers and didn't make my eyes sore either.

Walnut8 · 03/08/2014 11:10

I can't stand tubing mascara - especially when it leaves its horrid tubes all over my face - but clearly in the minority Grin

Solaia · 03/08/2014 12:27

Yy to tubing mascara. Loreal beauty tubes is amazing.

They're Real I'm not sure about. Say I wear it for four weeks, the cycle goes: first week I have black stuff smeared under my eyes, over my eyes and basically all over my face, middle two weeks I have beautiful long lasting miracle eyelashes, fourth week I have black stuff all over my face again. It's as though it has to be the right level of dried-out-ness to work properly?

ThePerfectNegroni · 03/08/2014 12:39

Loreal beauty tubes ROCKS. It's the only tubing mascara that stays on me and doesn't flake. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.

dubdurbs · 03/08/2014 12:56

Too Faced Lash Injection-incredible stuff! A tubing mascara that does not budge, but slides off with warm water. It doesn't smudge or smear, which every other mascara does on my skin, and makes your lashes look amazing. Love the stuff x

Howaboutthisone · 03/08/2014 18:04

Max factor false lash effect waterproof- amazing! Best to buy the boots no7 eye make up remover too if you get it as that's the only thing that will shift it!Grin

MillyDots · 03/08/2014 18:10

I went "Old School" and saw Maybelline Big Lash in boots for £4.99 and bought it. Amazing for me. I have very long eyelashes and this really brings them out and they are just the right thickness with this and the length shows up beautifully. No smudging, flaking, running. (waterproof I use) I have tried many , all the falsh effects etc and this works best for me. I think as we all have different eyelashes we probably all like different ones....mostly.

DarkBlueEyes · 04/08/2014 21:54

I have probably tried every mascara there is and almost bankrupted myself doing so. Benefit They're real flaked all under my eyes within hours. Ditto to the tube mascaras. Ditto to the Lancome Hypnose ones, the Estee Lauder ones, the new Clinique one, Clarins one etc etc.

Max Factor Masterpiece is ok.
Maybelline Volum Express is also ok.
But the total best one, and the one I always come back to as it's so fantastic, is Maybelle Define-a-lash WATERPROOF in a green thin tube with a blue band on the end of it. I think Boots have stopped doing it (I last bought two or three tubes when I saw it), but looks like you can get it on eBay:
eBay

I totally rate it. You do need to use a waterproof mascara remover to get it off, and it won't stay on 100% while swimming, however it doesn't smudge.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 05/08/2014 08:42

another vote for Bobbi brown waterproof, the only mascara I have ever used that does not leave a dark smudge under eyes during the day. awesome stuff
