Home laser removal

I'm thinking about buying a home laser removal kit, has anyone had experience of using them? Are they worth the money!

I've got the Boots Smoothskin one (not the black one: mine seems to have been discontinued despite only being a few months old). I started in February, doing legs, armpits and bikini line weekly. Managed about 5 weeks when the handset stopped working. The company sent me a new one, and I'm now on week 7 or 8 again. The hair growth has lessened immensely, and I'm really happy with it. I don't expect it to be permanent, but even lessened is brilliant. The timings on the Boots website are hugely optimistic though: it takes about 25 mins per half leg, but only 5-10 mins each to do armpits and bikini line.

The problem for me will come when it runs out of flashes and I'll need to replace it. Hopefully this won't be for a few years, and by then prices will have dropped further...

I have the Philips lumea precision plus and I absolutely love it. I have had it about 6 weeks and I basically have very little re growth on bikini line or armpits.

I have used it probably a little more than recommended. They say 2 weeks between uses but I tend to just go for it when I remember.

So far have done chin, bikini and arm pits and all have worked. I have darkish hair and pale-ish skin.

Armpits take me about a minute. Bikini line about 3 minutes. Legs would def take a lot longer though

Got this one as it's cordless, ok for face and you don't need gel or anything.

I don't work for them honest!!

It was the Philips one I had read all the reviews about, being £350 I was hoping it was worth the money.
I have very dark hair, and pale skinned.
Would like to know how effective it is long term, ie cost effective against razors and cream.
I guess it's all so new..it's hard to know now how effective over a longer time?

I can't say how it work long term and if you are happy shaving then I think shaving is always going to be cheaper.

For me, it's more that this provides me with a simple and effective way to get rid of hair in a way that nothing else has so far. No stubble and even if I had to do it every few weeks for the rest of my days I think I could cope.

I don't get on with waxing so it was this or shave and this wins every time!

I have the Lumea for about two years now. I barely have to top up. I can't remember the last time I used it on my legs for example. I have a few stray hair in my underarm which I shave and then redo maybe every two months. I'm sure it's not cheaper than a razor. But I just love not having stubbles. I was shaving every other day before. And I can also go on holiday now without bringing razor and cream. I would recommend it.

The aspect I like best is that there are no hairs growing under the skin - dark hair & pale skin means the hairs showed even when is just shaved. Waxing was an improvement but laser/IPL is fantastic.
