I posted a little while ago asking for help to refresh and update myself, and you were all kind enough to post some amazing advice, particularly on colour combining. I've taken on board all of the links and advice and I think I'm really getting somewhere - I think I understand what colours and shapes suit me far better than I did before. I've bought a handful of bright tops and three very versatile skirts, and spent a little bit on summer sandals and some ballet flats to take into autumn! I also gave myself a decent haircut which feels lovely and fresh and bouncy now, and have started wearing a slick of lipstick and mascara every day. It hasn't cost huge amounts of money - I combine bog standard high street stores with charity shop finds and ebay bargains, but I feel I've been able to move beyond the white t-shirt and jeans mum-rut I was stuck in before.
It mightn't sound much to people with a lifelong interest in fashion, but it's a sea change for me, and do you know what - it feels good. It really does. Scary, (and I'm far from convinced I'm getting it right all the time!), but good. So thank you, it's been an eye opener and much appreciated!
