Big tum & double layer tops

Hi all

I'm after some opinions whether I could wear a double layer top like this if I've got a Mummy tummy? I'm 37 and going to a lunch with some old work colleagues in a few weeks. I'm still a good 1.5 stone overweight left over from the birth of my 21 month old son Shock but want to look fashionable and not old & Mumsy (which is how I do feel Sad )

If you think I'll probably still look pregnant (which is my thinking), does anyone have any recommendations of styles that wouldn't make me look frumpy?

TIA Grin

Just one more thing:- I've got an hourglass figure so find bubble hem type tops just make me look huge!

I'm a similar shape to you and think that double layering only looks ok if the longer/bottom layer is the same/similar colour as your trousers - eg black trousers, long black vest, shorter/different colour top over vest.

But I'm happy to be told different and rethink what I'm doing!

I think the pale bit would highlight the bit you probably want to disguise. Sorry.

I am pretty sure that the layer top would highlight the bit you are trying to disguise.

I have a similar tummy issue and find this with a black slinky vest underneath and teamed with a pair of slim fit jeans is very flattering and hopefully not too mumsy?

Hmm that's what I thought, how annoying. Thanks everyone x

I disagree. I wear things like that with skinnies and find that it really helps hide my stomach.

But in dark, not pale.

The idea is good but that particular top isn't. It needs to be longer and darker.
