looking like someone famous?

...my dd looks a lot like Claudia Winkleman (without the tan), I told her but she wasn't very pleased. Does anyone else look like or want to look like anyone famous?

Depends whether you know people who would tell you Choc that you resembled an ugly person .

There aren't really any ugly female celebs though are there?

Even the ones we're told are 'unattractive' - they often aren't. EG a friend with long blonde hair, a tan and a curvy figure used to get told she looked like Vanessa Feltz - which mortified her. But Vanessa Feltz is an attractive woman. As was the friend.

Oh, when I was in my late teens/ early 20s, I got told I looked like Marisa Tomei by a guy in a pub and Isabelle Adjani by some guys working in a chippy.

Sadly those days are gone. I'd be lucky if i got Andrew WK! Or Lemmy!

For a time one son looked very like Hathaway (aka Laurence Fox) in Lewis. He's now - ds has, no idea about LF - grown a beard. I call him Haakon these days as he has the look of the Viking due to facial fur.

I love these threads, almost everyone is so good looking, and their children too. Can you all post photos?

I had a photo taken this weekend, and would say that I'm a dead ringer for Clarissa Dickson Wright, in a good light!

... and Jo Brand. I don't mind being compared to Jo, but to be fair it was during my overweight + DM boots wearing days.

My exbf used to say I looked like Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream when I woke up with no make up on . Cheers for that .

I used to look like Amy McDonald before i got fat

a colleague at work the other day told me I looked like Wednesday Adams

she meant more the actress who played her because I'm quite pale and have long dark hair.

if I don't blow dry my hair and let it dry naturally I look like James May! -and Im a woman! .

If my hairs fine im told I look like Vannessa Feltz.

when I was young and had dark permed hair I was Gloria Estefan.

straight hair and short I was Sheena Easton.

The thing is though that you can have a resemblance to someone beautiful without being beautiful yourself. I have friends who undeniably resemble famous beauties but aren't especially attractive themselves. And you see it with famous siblings sometimes - they look alike but one is gorgeous, one so-so.

Someone once told me I looked like Johny Depp. I was horrified and they said "But he's very good looking...". Er yes, but he is also a man (which I am not!).

I have been told on different occasions that I look like Helen Shapiro and the (late great) Rik Mayal.

I don't think I ever looked like either, but just had similar hair at the time and a big nose.

I quite agree, Algorta. Just like Julia Robert's resembles a horse but is, in fact, stunningly beautiful.

That said, there's was parent with children at our local creche who looks just like Meryl Streep did at her age. It's very strange indeed.

I was once asked for my autograph when shopping in Santa Monica. I have no idea who I was mistaken for.

I declined. Some poor minor celebrity has an awfully tarnished reputation now for not engaging with their fans.

When I was 12 I was told Billie Jean King (short bushy hair and glasses). Also the one from Tears for Fears - not even the good-looking singer but the other one

I look like the Z-list former sleb Joanna Murphy - former Hollyoaks star and now footballer's wife. Once upon a time (when I was a lot slimmer) my boss came running into my office one morning clutching 'OK!' magazine shouting, 'YOU'RE IN OK!!!' - and when I saw the pics (of Joanna Murphy nee Taylor trying on wedding dresses), yup, it did look exactly like me! I was once mistaken for her in a bar in Liverpool - the poor guy was too intoxicated to understand me saying that I wasn't her and told me that I thought I was too good to speak to the likes of him just cos I was on telly.

When I worked on a stockbrokers dealing floor in the late 80s apparently I looked like Gail McKenna the page three girl. I had no idea who she was. When I found out I was utterly mortified so I grew all my permed long hair layers out. Only to be told when I changed job that I looked like "the girl off the hairdryer box in Boots" it was Nicola Charles who went on to be in Neighbours.

I now look like Craig Charles from Red Dwarf, apparently.
