Smart, quite big leather handbag needed for work

I'm a solicitor, so it has to be fairly large (def. big enough to fit in an A4 file), smart but understated and preferably without obvious branding on it. Colour - probably black. I don't mind paying up to about £200 but it needs to be good quality and to last.

I was looking at Osprey and Radley bags, but read on here that Osprey can be bad quality...

This looks nice and has an extra 20% off at the moment. I bought an Osprey bag once and found it was very bad quality.

Just realised it is navy though, looked black to me!

Have you looked at Knomo? It sells bags suitable for laptops etc so will be the right size for A4 files.

I know you don't want obvious branding but Patrick Cox do fabulous quality and only have the name on a small clasp. I recently got a black barely used one on eBay for £40.

This might not be as posh as you want but so many people commented on mine, much more than any expensive bag I have ever had, and it lasted quite well. here

I like the Jaeger Julianne, if you'd consider a tote. Some good colours too, the cherry or green are lovely but muted enough to be respectable.

They have something similar in the sale for £65!
