Leaving on Monday for 2 weeks at hot beachy type hotel. Looked forward to it all year.Clothes packing completed, sun cream, hair and skincare done and just the makeup to go...
I'm a cosmetics junkie though. If anyone else has a similar problem can you bring yourself to do a capsule beachy bronze look every night or do you take half your dressing table just in case?

Word of advice don't bother with eye make up if going to the beach or pool it makes your eyes sting plus your skin will look lovely must be the med diet!

Marylou2 · 26/07/2014 19:49

I'm impressed! I usually feel the need to take primers, highlighters, 4 different foundations and bronzers and whole mac counters full of lip/cheek and eyecolours.

Estee Lauder BB cream
Estee Lauder Double Wear mascara
Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Champs-Elysees - worn as a stain during the day and full on for nights out.
Mac Select Sheer pressed powder or Chanel Les Beiges
Chanel Illusion d'ombre in Emerveille
Chanel blusher in Ultra Rose (works well with the lipstick)

I'd tint my brows before going on holiday.

coffeeinbed · 26/07/2014 20:20

I take the dressing table and the kitchen sink...

Marylou2 · 26/07/2014 20:30

Ooh lovely selection Carpaccio.I've just googled Champs-Elysee as I don't have that, maybe at the airport. ..
I'll try your list as my template.

I wear a full face of make up every day, but I'm planning to just take this on holiday (it's going to be v v hot):

Tinted moisturiser, spf50
Cream blusher
Powder
Cream eyeshadow
Eyeliner pencil
Mascara
Lipgloss

Only one shade each of eyeshadow and lipgloss - I travel very light, hand luggage only for 1 week!

SirNoel · 26/07/2014 20:53

I pare it right down, for the simple reason that if I don't, the heat goes to my head and for some bizarre reason I'm tempted to try all kinds of 'exotic' looks Confused

I've umpteen holiday photos of myself sporting peacock-esque eyes and orangey cheekbones. I wouldn't mind if I could carry the bronzed look off, but I'm a Celtic pasty face

Marylou2 · 26/07/2014 21:01

Would love to be the travelling light kind of gal, but unfortunately I've already packed 72kg plus hand luggage. I know what you mean SirNoel, I've watched one too many Pixiwoo videos on a Youtube and I can get carried away.

I take blusher, mascara & brilliant double-sided Clinique lipstick I've had for many years - reddish on one side & pinky-brown on the other. I'll be sad when it wears out or goes rancid

TSSDNCOP · 26/07/2014 22:37

Olay tinted moisturiser
Liz Mercier powder
Clinique mascara and blusher
Clinique lip gloss

splodgeness · 28/07/2014 13:28

One thing I love about holidays is not having to do a full face of make up and not having to worry about what to wear (beyond what is in the suitcase).

I take tinted moisturiser, powder blusher and bronzer, liz earle mascara and Mac gel eyeliner (both stay put not matter what) and lipfinity lippie.
