Wedding Guest Outfit HELP!

Hope you amazing people aren't too fed up with this question. Just read some recent threads and found your tastes and advice really great. Hopefully you can help me too.
I'm having the usual crisis over what to wear. Don't go to weddings often! I'm 50 something, 5'2, big boobs that I hate and size 16ish. Wedding is August and church followed by posh reception. Can I wear a cobalt blue shift dress with burnt orange low heels, burnt orange beady necklace and handbag? Do I go for a facinator (burnt orange with blue feathers maybe - I've see one I can customise) Will it all be too bright?
Any other ideas? I need sleeves, hate pink and look awful in yellow.

That sounds really nice and conservative actually! Perfect for a wedding where you a) don't want to stand out as "that lady who wore..." Or b) don't want to up stage bride or mother of the bride with a stunning floor skimming evening gown. The most important thing is that everything fits you well and you feel comfortable in it. I would only say don't go to big with the facinator! (Def facinator over hat)

Thank you Byrdie. Should I ditch the fascinator then? The one I was tinking of sits on the side of the head with a large (12cm at the widest - 18 cm long) flattish ear shaped piece (think it's called a tear drop!) with a small flower on in burnt orange with some blue and crystal tiny beads in the middle of the flower and about 5 thin feathers. Too Much?

The colour combinations sound great but maybe lose the fascinator as you will already be making a statement with the bright colours. Smile

Your outfit sounds lovely.

I'd wear the fascinator, but then I love hats and hair pieces

Thanks so much. Really appreciate your advice I don't really have anyone else to ask - DH is lovely but hopeless when it comes to clothes. He'd say I look great for a night out in a tatty T shirt and wellies, which is what we all want to hear sometimes but this isn't one of them times Smile.
I love hats and fascinators but agree it might be too much.
