So i bought a JCrew tippi sweater.....

and its just a sweater. Whats the big deal?
I like the sleeve length but its pretty thin, i am a 14 top half and a large will only fit a vest under it...

I think it's about the

  • good neckline (not scooped, not too high - sounds easy but the only other place that seemed to do merino in a proper round neck, apart from the Tippi, was Gap)
  • the flattering cut (it's straight cut), so not tight - good for ladylike does knits (ie not that old rogue, Babs Windsor)
  • good quality merino - no bobbling.

You don't like or just underwhelmed? Was thinking, good for you for always trying new things, BTW - no rut for Gretchen.

So a thin knit would be better than a thick one? I layer a Uniqlo Heattech under mine when it gets chilly. I'm not sure the Tippi is my perfect knit, but I haven't found a better one. I'll be looking at Gap again this winter, too, as the quality of their merino is excellent, so if it fits well on me (it really didn't, last year), I will try some of theirs, too.
