I've mangled my forehead and eyebrows thanks to you lot.

Those bloody eyebrow razors. Even dh who never notices anything said to me this morning "what the fucks happened to your face"

I look like someone has taken barbed wire and pressed it against my skin just above my eyebrows. Loads and loads of little scabby, itchy spots. Which I must have scratched in my sleep and are now big scabby, bleeding, oozing mess. With stubble mixed in for good measure.

When we first bought our house, the garden was a bit shabby and overgrown but not too bad. DH and I had never really done much gardening so FIL lent us a pruning saw.

I went out intending to trim back the most overgrown tree. 2 hours later, the entirety of our gardens' plants were laying in a huge pile in the middle of the lawn.

This is why I never let myself trim my own fringe, and why a teeny little razor to tidy the edges of my eyebrows would be a Very Bad Idea.

Oddly it seemed ok when I did it.

I bought some and my eyebrows are amazing !!!

ClashCityRocker · 19/07/2014 14:16

I bought some and have one awesome eyebrow.

The other, less so.

What is the point in eyebrows anyway? Xx

ClashCityRocker · 19/07/2014 14:17

Ooh I didn't mean to put kisses, how un-mumsnetty. I'll be Lolita and hunning next.

ClashCityRocker · 19/07/2014 14:17

Lolingl not Lolita. I won't be Lolita.

VeganCow · 19/07/2014 14:18

how do you use them? Are they not meant for men with bushy eyebrows, you know, instead of using hair clippers obver a comb to shorten the length?
For what its worth, op, I wouldnt look at you and think you had been shaving, I would assume you had a couple of spots thats all, you look fine?!

TheReluctantCountess · 19/07/2014 14:20

I saw the MN email that recommended them. I'm glad I didn't get some now. Thanks for the warning.

Branleuse · 19/07/2014 14:21

i got some too, and found them really tricky to use.

ScarlettlovesRhett · 19/07/2014 15:04

No!!

Eyebrows should only be groomed by threading, waxing or tweezers - no, no, no to shaving of eyebrows!

Galaxy - get HD brows done - they do the shape that suits your individual shape, and your taste (if you want narrower or wider for e.g.), and you can maintain with tweezers afterwards.

Never shave eyebrows!

ScarlettlovesRhett · 19/07/2014 15:05
  • individual face, not shape (sorry)
SillyTillyTilly · 19/07/2014 15:08

Ouch, your poor thing! I say that with full empathy

I used the bloody things a couple of days ago. I have three, what I can only describe a paper cut-type slashes which now itch, and sting simultaneously. I think the blade is too wide, personally, and I worried they were going to shear off the ends of my (long) eyelashes. Somebody said they were blunt. Mine were not! Dangerous they are, in the wrong hands anyway Grin

expatinscotland · 19/07/2014 15:13

Threading is cheap and wonderful.

Nerf · 19/07/2014 15:20

Oh god I love style and beauty. It's full of hilarity. Sorry op but I am dying laughing.

GalaxyInMyPants · 19/07/2014 15:22

Worst thing is they didnt seem to make much difference to my actual eyebrows. I was in town today but am in too much pain to get the threaded.

OP posts:
GalaxyInMyPants · 19/07/2014 15:23

Nerf. I haven't dared tell dh yet what I've done as he'd piss himself laughing. I've told him its spots but not sure he believes me.

OP posts:
Coumarin · 19/07/2014 16:26

I knew that thread would end in tears. An accident in pastel coloured plastic just waiting to happen.

Although it doesn't look that bad op. A dab of concealer and no one will notice.

Yy eyebrows are weird things generally.

Nerf · 19/07/2014 18:59

Oh dear, op. Please don't tell him! Mine would laugh himself stupid and have zero sympathy. He has never forgiven me for waxing his back so this would be a gift.

Greengardenpixie · 19/07/2014 19:33

Your eyebrows dont look that bad. You just look like you are having a bit of an outbreak of spots. At least you have eyebrows left! :)
I have never ever done anything with my eyebrows except brush them. [ that sounds a bit weird...they arent that thick!] I just shape them with an eyebrow pencil brush iykwim.]
They will grow back :)

bigkidsdidit · 19/07/2014 19:50

I got them after that thread and my eyebrows look fantastic. Do you react to threading too?
