Can this be dressed up enough for a wedding?

Asos dress

I have this dress but not in tall (probs not relevant...). I know it is quite casual but I am hoping someone will tell me that with a smart enough cover-up, I might get away with it.

I would be very grateful for any opinions, and if you think I could pull it off, and can suggest any cover up or type of cover up, I would be overcome with appreciation.

Little blazer or a bolero?

ScouseBird8364 · 15/07/2014 18:01

I'd wear a statement bib with it, have a look at Jessie's Jewels online Wink

Short blazer or even just a nice hat and that dress will look lovely for a wedding. Have a great time.

Yes find for a wedding .

UnderEstherMate · 15/07/2014 18:07

Perfectly fine! Accessorise to dress it up.

isshoes · 15/07/2014 18:11

Great thanks! Not sure what a statement bib is but I will look at that website, thanks!

statement bibs are just those chunky necklace type thingies, New Look do some nice, trendy ones too Smile

Allalonenow · 15/07/2014 18:18

That's really lovely, I see ASOS has a white Pull & Bear Trilby hat for just £4 too, maybe pin a fresh rose to the hat the same shade as the dress or a contrasting colour?

isshoes · 15/07/2014 18:26

Ooh good ideas! Will have a look at that hat! And thanks Scousebird - saw some nice ones in Dotty P's earlier.

OK I have found three potential blazers - all H&M. Any opinions as ever greatly appreciated:

Option 1
Option 2
Option 3

I am also going to get a statement necklace Smile

I think option 3 would work best with the flirty fun style of the dress, (is the dress pink?)

nilbyname · 15/07/2014 20:25

I think option 2 is best, gives the flirty dress an androgenous edge.

isshoes · 15/07/2014 21:20

Thanks both. I'm afraid I went rogue in the end and ordered this one. Smile

That's lovely!

Allalonenow · 15/07/2014 22:01

Lovely shape to the jacket, which colour did you order?

isshoes · 15/07/2014 22:35

I went for the pale pink one.

rootypig · 15/07/2014 22:36

The jacket is so nice!

ScouseBird8364 · 15/07/2014 23:07

Ooh, love that jacket Wink but bad choice of colour - 2 shades of pink Confused

isshoes · 16/07/2014 08:57

Oh I thought they might look quite nice together...but just in case I have ordered the ivory one too and will decide when I have tried them on.

I think the pink will look more edgy - cream over pink dress is a bit mother of the bride, different tones of the same colour might be slightly off in a good way. Don't be put off OP!
