FitFlops. Are they true to size

I am looking at a great pair of FitFlops online at the moment but are wondering if they are true to size and what the recommendations are.
I am usually a 6.5 in say Clarks shoes andI tend to size up to a 7 with boots as I like to wear thick socks. The shoesI am looking at are toe post ones so will have little movement forward.
They are replacing a pair of Sketchers which I have managed to ruin but they are a very large 6 or US9

Any clues?

I'm a 41, ie a 7 and a half and always wear 8 in Fitflops if that helps.

By the way a US 9 would be a UK 7 (not a 6).

Re the sketchers they advertise a US 9 as a UK 6 but I am aware that there are some differences. The US 8 is sold as a 5 in the UK and certainly are too small for me.
