Dry Shampoo - quick advice please!

I've never used it before.
Do you spray it all over or just on the roots?
Do you brush it through or does that brush it out?

I spray onto roots - lift sections at random and spray a bit on, repeat a few times. Then tip head upside down, ruffle with fingers and flip back again. I find if I brush it through I just redistribute the grease and hair looks worse than before.

Also if you are straightening your hair use the straighteners before you use the dry shampoo or it will just go limp again.

I've short, fine hair so have never needed this before.
I can't wash my hair until my stitches come out on Thursday so have bought some Battisse.
Will try it in a minute after my shower.
