I'm off to bravissimo today

And I'm quite excited. The last bra for I had reduced me to tears as they couldn't do anything for my saggy empty shape. Using the intervention method I think I'm a 32e so I hope they can fit me in something nice. I might actually be a 38c (according to marks) so I hope that it's not a wasted trip...

Enjoy! I've had nothing but great experiences in several years of using them. Its a great feeling to have a bra that fits properly - you will look trimmer and clothes look better and your back and shoulders will thank you. Have fun!

I'm worried that my expectations are too high and I envisage leaving with my boob's restored to their rightful place 20 years ago

Just anything other than nursing bras will be lovely I guess.

I went to Bravissimo in Cardiff thanks to recommendations on MN.

All the staff were lovely, my fitter took lots of time with me, running up and down to the store room to get the perfext fitting bra.

I came away with two bra sets which fit beautifully along with a note of which size and styles I should buy in future (I live a two hour drive away and can't just pop back)

Can't recommend them enough - you'll find yourself swishing in front of every mirror admiring your new look!

And there's a bra bin where you can dump your old badly fitting bra so it goes off to charity. Nice touch!

I went for the first time last week. I too was a 38c according to m&s.

Am actually a 34e and now the proud owner of a very comfy (though expensive) bra.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/07/2014 07:12

Trust your instincts, I went along to one last year on a wave of expectation of finding the perfect bra for me and came away with one where the straps were continually slipping off my shoulders, waste of money. So don't just take their word about the fit, examine the bras critically yourself too. On the plus side, they measured me as 36e, I had been wearing 36d for years, armed with my new size I went to M&S and found far better fitting bras there.

EdithDickie · 14/07/2014 09:03

I love bravissimo!

32gg in there with boobs up where they should be. Agree with trying on lots of different styles, the cleo is fab for me.
I did find the new bras felt tight at first but that was because I had been used to wearing bras that were way too big for ages (m&s said I was a 36 band...).

Good luck and enjoy!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/07/2014 09:12

That was the annoying thing, I did try on loads of them under the "expert" eye of their fitter and yet still came away badly fitted. I doubt I'll be going back (the one I went to is two hours away, but Guildford is quite nearby, however that doesn't sound too promising either).

stinkingbishop · 14/07/2014 09:24

Take advantage of being there to try on some of the clothes too. I practically live in the strappy vests. And shirts that don't gape at the buttons. Life enhancing!!

SmileAndNod · 14/07/2014 16:48

Well I'm back. I think it went ok. I was measured as a 32E which I kind of knew as that's what the intervention ladies told me Grin. First bra I tried on a Cleo juna gave me terrible back fat which I was told was very normal? Anyway I didn't like the way it bulged under my vest. Are bras supposed to give you back fat?

Had more success with the freya patsy half cup style, which I ended up buying and also a pink one in John Lewis sale for half the price. I'm very empty up top and so the lovely ladies on here suggested half cup styles which asked for. Also tried the freya deco plunge which did give a nice shape and some lift but I wasn't too sure as moulded cups scare me being empty, though there wasn't any gaping which surprised me. I didn't have much separation going on, my boobs still fell into one another. Is this how the deco is supposed to be?

So I don't think it was a wasted trip as such. I think I was hoping for surgery like miracles!

There's a Rigby and Peller in Guildford if you're not having any joy with Bravissimo.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/07/2014 17:04

Whereabouts is that beccajoh? I've never spotted it.

mummybare · 14/07/2014 17:46

Rigby & Peller is on Tunsgate (as in through the arch from the High St rather than the little shopping centre itself), although I actually found Guildford Bravissimo great - so perhaps it just depends which staff member you get?

mummybare · 14/07/2014 17:47

(Sorry to butt in by the way - just happened to know the answer...)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/07/2014 18:02

Thanks, is that the one with Next on the corner? Or the one on the other side with the big courtyard cafe at the back and Heals? I don't often go through either of them. Will have a look next time I'm there, although I don't actually need any bras at the moment, it's always good to know where things are. Whereabouts is the Bravissimo?

StrawberryCheese · 14/07/2014 18:08

All my bras are from Bravissimo now and they are great. I feel so much better now that I am wearing a good fitting bra instead of a very slack M&S one. I was 34B in M&S and I'm a 28E in Bravissimo!

mummybare · 14/07/2014 18:14

It's opposite Heals. And Bravissimo is on one of the ones between the High St and North St - not sure the name of the road but think it's the one with French Connection on.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/07/2014 18:42

Ok, yes, I know where you mean for both of them. I haven't been shopping there for a while. Thanks.

GretchenWiener · 14/07/2014 19:16

I like a moulded cup in the summer
