Getting rid of static

I should know this!

How do I get rid of static in a dress? I have polyester dress that I'll be wearing over a net petticoat and within seconds it's clinging and doesn't look as good as it could. I remember something about tumble drier sheets but not sure what!

Try spraying hairspray between petticoat and dress.

I have an aerosol can that you spray onto the fabric which de statics the fabrics. Got it in John Lewis.
