1940's style wedding

Family wedding at the end of this year (so cold weather likely), it will be informal, register office ceremony, dancing and buffet at a hall with a swing band afterwards.

I am leaning towards getting something like this as I think it will be comfortable, and I will feel relaxed in it.

Will I look like complete mutton? (I am fifty five, petite build, proportionately legs long relative to short body, so thought that style might suit) can't decide if it is too young and I should go for something more sedate.
My fashion sense is usually utterly wrong quirky, if you think it will look hideous tell me, I can take it (and feel free to suggest a better alternative) I am the mother of the groom btw if that makes a difference.

I have those trousers, they are v flattering and comfy.

I love that outfit, and the whole style actually. Definitely not mutton.

Thank you both - I feel more confident now. I think it is a nice style, bride and Mum of bride are wearing tea dresses I think, but I am more of a trousers sort of person.

Yes, a good call. Tara Starlet & VoH do similar trousers too.

Ooh thank you MrsLettuce - I love the victory trousers on the Tara Scarlet site in red, and loads of lovely colour choices on the VOH site too Smile

(I'd be very, very tempted by a combo of one of the pairs of TS Victory Trousers with one of the 40s Pussy Bow Blouses from 20thCF.)

x posts!

Some gorgeous blouses on there, (I really like the stripey sweetheart tops too - might just get one of those anyway!)
