Night moisturiser recs needed

I recently started using Avene stuff for day, and am really happy with the cleanser and the water spray stuff. The 20SPF day cream is less good though, so now I need a new night cream, I think I'd like to try a different range. Ideally it will be less than £20, and not over-rich or over-smelly - something good but light would be nice.

Bump bump.

I've tried loads but keep coming back to Liz earle moisturiser, not the pricy super skin one, I find the smell overpowering, just the original skin repair. I find it a pleasure to use and really effective.

Aldi restorative day and night creams.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 13/07/2014 09:23

Eucerin creams are excellent too.

KipT77 · 13/07/2014 09:26

Another vote for Aldi.

BestIsWest · 13/07/2014 09:34

I am a huge fan of Neal's Yard stuff especially the Frankincense nourishing cream. It is quite smelly though.

shoeprincess2 · 13/07/2014 10:06

Remus might you be able to get away with just using a serum at this time of year? My favourite night cream is the REN Frankincense one, but during the summer months, I can just use a light hydrating serum (currently the Superdrug Simply Aqua one- cheap as chips). If I use the REN it is too rich for my skin. If your skin needs a night moisturiser, how about The Body Shop's Vitamin E one?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/07/2014 12:43

Thanks all.

Liz Earle gave me spots when I tried it before. I do love Neals Yard stuff, but am finding the scents increasingly hard to take. Unlikely to be going to Aldi.

I will investigate the Body Shop and Eucerin ones, thank you. Thanks

Clinique turnaround night moisturiser. Quite sticky but not smelly. I use dramatically different moisturiser religiously too

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/07/2014 21:47

Thank you. Don't like Clinique stuff, unless it has changed dramatically in the last five years of or so.

Use an oil instead. Aesop (using parsley seed) or the Clarins ones are good (using lotus at the mo)

I alternate an oil with a serum and throw in a mask sometimes. (Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Nux Creme Fraichez)

Most moisturisers aren't very good unless you have ££££££££ to spend

ShutTheFuckUpBarbara · 13/07/2014 22:18

I like Botanics at the moment. It sinks in straight away and the smell isn't too strong.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/07/2014 22:25

Which one, Shut - and what did Barbara do to upset you? :)

Happy to use an oil, Cunture - but just can't justify anything over £20 right now.

i've recently become a big fan of the Una Brennan neroli range. You can get it in bigger Boots and it's mid priced. I absolutely love the serum, which I use night and morning, and the day and night creams. They are all very light, but actually seem to make my skin look better.

KiaOraOAotearoa · 13/07/2014 22:30

I use nuxe serum and almond oil at night. Love it.

ThisBitchIsResting · 13/07/2014 23:05

Nivea blue pot. Perfect night cream.

ShutTheFuckUpBarbara · 13/07/2014 23:18

It's Triple Age Renewal. I used to use Nivea but I find it a bit too rich for summer.

Oh and Barbara is a right cow :o

Floisme · 13/07/2014 23:39

I always use oil at night. I like coconut or almond oil at the moment and buy them from the grocery counter. I find them just as effective as any fancy cream.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/07/2014 17:36

Am spoilt for choice now! Thanks, all.

I use steam cream at night. Expensive on the main site, can be got cheaply on Amazon and eBay.

Happy36 · 15/07/2014 03:11

No. 7 protect and perfect.

Get some samples from the department stores and see which ones you like.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 15/07/2014 07:08

So untrue about moisturisers only being good if they're expensive.
