I have a few weeks in Canada and America and feel like a treat!

What purchases do you buy out here?
I do love clothes and wouldn't mind some new jeans, if there were any fab recommendations?

Make up wise my Estée Lauder is as expensive here but I'm hoping my mac mascara won't be!

I find the US cheaper than Canada. I love jeans - J Brand, Paige, Goldsign all cheaper. James Perse do great tee shirts.

J Crew/Banana Republic/Gap is a lot cheaper if you like those stores. Any of the US brands are cheaper really and there's a better selection.

Have a good time!

MAC, Maybelline, Banana Republic (? I think?), Macy's (although when I went to Macy's it was a bunch of crap for old people), Abercrombie and Fitch, but most importantly...

LEVI'S.

Apparently they are about...half the price over there.

A bit left field maybe; but they have a massive range of aveeno products in Canada ditto Palmers I was bewildered so maybe decide what you want beforehand they're in Shoppers iirc and a lot of black/mixed race hair and skincare in supermarkets...tho I found their drugstores a bit odd but that's another story Wink

When I'm in the US, I tend to buy jeans (Lucky Brand serves me well), J Crew, Gap, Banana Republic. Sometimes the outlets produce gems too. H buys out abercrombie, and I always get some Ralph Lauren polo tops for my son at an outlet: they wash and wear so much better than anything else. Sam Edelman shoes, and other US brands if they float your boat (Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade, Coach etc). Oh, and Victoria's Secret underwear. Love their bras and their Multi-buy cotton pants.

Otherwise, I buy A LOT of M&Ms (almond and peanut butter are my favourites); Secret deodorant; and then sometimes weird stuff I can't get in the UK: cake mixes in unusual flavours, cheap microwave popcorn, shake and bake. Stuff from my childhood.

I got secret deodorant still got some, and I'd almost forgotten about the different m&ms and the different fantas

I would shop in the US, not Canada. It's normally cheaper and there's usually a better selection.

Lose yourself in Walgreens. And Target. For laffs, pronounce it Tar-jay.

Buy all the things. Buy a bigger bag. Buy more things.

Lucky Brand jeans, banana republic, Tommy Hilfiger for great vests and Ralph Lauren at the outlets are my go to US shops

FunkyBoldRibena · 12/07/2014 23:18

I come back with pockets, bags and suitcases stuffed with cinnamon gum and sweets. They have to last until the next time so I use them wisely.

carrie74 are you me?! That is exactly my annual shopping list! I'm also a sucker for a mint m&m and bring back alot of gin!
