Another wedding one...

I need help, I've been looking but nothing's grabbing me.

I've lost weight, quite a lot of weight and I was limited to plus size clothes and was really looking forward to just being able to pick a dress to wear to a wedding from anywhere, only, I don't know where to look and can't find anything I really want to wear.

I'm 5'8 and I can now squeeze into a 14, but my stomach is still a bit of a problem area and high necklines don't suit me at all.

I've got dark brown hair, slightly olivey skin and most colours are ok, I don't mind patterns, but nothing too scary.

Oh and I prefer not to wear strapless bras.

Can anyone find me a really nice dress? Please?

I think this is the most flattering dress shape for bigger tummies. I don't particularly like the print o this one but wrap around dresses give you a more defined shape.

I know wrap dresses work...or fit and flare, I just can't find any I like.

I know I'm not suddenly a catwalk model or anything, but I look a hundred times better than I did this time last year and I just wanted for once to buy a really nice dress rather than just any that would do and was big enough.

I've spent years looking really frumpy and I just want to look nice for once.

I think you ought to try phase 8( bit pricey I know) . I only suit wrap around and fit and flare. I'm slim but big boned with small hips and bust, they are the only dresses that don't make me look like a fella in drag.
Sounds daft, have you tried charity shops? I say this as most of my clothes are bought from them. There is no strong current fashion at the moment. Clothes nowadays are such a random mish mash.
Looking good and sassy is not about having a models figure and expensive clothes; it's about being comfortable and confident in your own skin.
Wallis, Bon Marche , M& Co and even Matalan are worth a look. I think some high end stuff is rubbish.

What's your budget and how weddingy do you want to go?

Hobbs - flattering shape, could dress it up for the wedding and get lots of use out of it afterwards.

Interesting. How are your legs?

Phase Eight - fitted but the ruching will be flattering over your stomach.

East - simple. I think the colour would look good on you.

East - great shape. Very weddingy.

A proper flowery prom dress. Not sure how long it is.

This would look good teamed with great shoes and hat/fascinator.
